I think he was a hoax personally, a lot of people could probably do what he did if they worked out a big enough back story.
Actually, who wants to sponsor me to become a "Time Traveller" from the future and see if I can get a cult following like Titor?
Might be.... as I believe you say in this timeframe, "Groovy?"

I agree anyone could do what he did and i think reason he not been on the net since saying he was going back to 2035 its a few reasons
1. he got new ip and now is protending to be someone eles as i heard someone in chat rooms all over is saying there a alien from space now.
2. He got worried about all the talk of how big his lies got.
3. his mum made money off his book so he dont need to do it anymore ummmmm.

<_< Yeah, I've seen the site, and I too am convinced it's a hoax. Two reasons:
Reason 1.) A few years back, before the Segway scooter was introduced, the company that produced that product hyped it up by saying that they were going to come out with a product that would be "bigger than the internet." In fact they referered to the product at that time simply as "it", and gave no clues whatsoever about what "it" was going to be. Meanwhile John Titor said on his website something to the effect of "As I recall, 'It' has been released in you people's time period about now. How do you feel about it? Do you feel manipulated by it's influence?" Of course, Titor's readers replied by saying that "It" hasn't been released to the public yet and would Mr. Titor be so kind as to give them some information about it in advance? And he wouldn't, of course, because we would find out soon enough.
Obviously, "It" turned out to be nothing more than an over priced, slow-moving scooter that was certainly not "bigger than the Internet". I figure the hoaxer simply heard the hype, and took a gamble by assuming it would be big news. Then he asked vague questions about it in order to give the impression that he was already familiar with it.
Reason 2: If I were going to pull a hoax like that, I would do and say the same things John Titor is doing. In fact, I used to joke with my friends about pretending to be from the future, and how I would go about convincing people. Then, one day
one of my friends told me "Looks like somebody else had the same idea"...and that was when I first found out about John Titor.

I heard of him. But I think he's a liar.

It would be nice to be able to believe him. I'm always interested in these sorts of stories.
Bt think, if he is fake just consider how long it must have taken him to draw up all those scematics of the device. All those questions he gets asked, he has to be able to corroberate his story and not give conflicting answers. I mean he appears to have immense knowledge of how time travel works and what happens during time travel.
I don't really know what to make of him. Nice thought if he was from the future.

I try to be an openminded kind of person, so I wouldn't write him off completely. Personally, I hope he was just making it up - as he kind of painted a rather pessimistic view of the future.
needles1987 - December 22, 2007 07:46 PM (GMT)
He said that his presence here changed the future.

It would be interesting, if it was true! I guess some might say that I'm a little too openminded, but it'd be nice if time travel in the future was possible.
The only thing, if time travel ever became possible - maybe it already is - you'd think it'd be better to not make the invention so public. Sort of like what Doc is always saying.

In my stories, the first invention of Doc's that was made public was his food preserver. Remember the four year old cookie?

Oh, yeah, I remember that one! That's such a good idea, in fact! :)
