To be honest (and this is my opinion, no-one elses) I thought MJ was going to jail at the start. Although as the trial went on the evidence for him being innocent was getting stronger. I honestly cannot believe that he was prenounced innocent but I am glad that he was. He is a great artist and deserves more respect from everyone, for his contributions to music.
ROCK ON MJ!!

I thought he would get off. But i still wouldn't have been surprised if he did go. I guess it could have gone anyway.

For a grown man to admit he sleeps with boys in his bed is disgusting to me.

Just because there wasn't enough evidence doesn't mean he is some superhero.

Yuck. But I do like his songs. Especially the Beatles ones he owns ;)

I remember in an interview a few years on MTV he said when an adult and kid sleep in the same bed, its a "Beautiful thing"

My thoughts on Michael Jackson:

MUSCIALLY: I can't deny being one of the gajillions that likes Thriller. Heck, when those songs were all over the radio in 1984 or so, I can even say they were some of the first I EVER heard in my life (I was 2 years old then!!) and still like 'em today.

In short, it's a great 'multiple appeal/crossover' album. :)

"Billie Jean" and the title track (with its creepy but landmark 14-minute video) were 80's synthpop with a faint Disco influence left. "Beat it" was a pop/dance track that, with Eddie Van Halen on guitar, gave the song a metal edge - instantly gave MJ acceptance with the MTV crowd and even some rock radio airplay.

"Wanna be Startin' Something" and "PYT" were modern funk/dance stompers. "Human Nature" was an interesting ballad - very melodic, but with an upbeat 80's pop groove at the same time. A different feel from the two other ballads, "Baby be Mine" and "The Lady in My Life" - which were more on the gentle, soft R&B side.

Just as MJ did vocals on Paul McCartney's 1983 hit "Say Say Say", Paul does the same for the duet, "The Girl is Mine" was a calmer, love-traingle ballad - doing the spoken argument near the end too.

(Wow, I just did a full album review! Didn't even mean to, LOL! ;) I also like Bad, Dangerous, and his 1995 ballad hit, "You are Not Alone".)

MICHAEL HIMSELF: Without getting too controversial, I think anyone -- even his ardently biggest fans, would agree he's always been a little...well, "different" - whether by going white (LOL), or anything else in his unique lifestyle.

Now, none of these things obviously make him guilty of the charges (heck, that's part of makes MJ MJ!), but given what we know, I think it would be hard to say he's 100% innocent either.

In many ways, I do feel sorry for him because (1) he didn't really get to have a "childhood" and (2) to top it off, his dad, Joe, was a bit of a jerk from what I've heard. For instance, he'd always have Mike and his brothers performing or on the road when he was a kid, instead of going to school or letting him interact with other kids. I frankly do believe that's why he's the way he is today and why he likes to hang around kids - to relive his own childhood.

The frightening thing is that he's so "used" to relivng his childhood, or believing he still IS a child, that he's lost touch with reality, and doesn't realize there's something wrong with having a 9-year-old boy sleeping in the same bed as a 46-year-old man. Because of his mindset, maybe a twist on "not guilty by reason of insanity" could apply in his case.

(As a sidenote: Has he ever actually maintained friendships with these boys after they hit puberty? )

Seriously though, I can support if he wants to help kids out by financial means - donating to a hospital, for instance. It's fine if he wants to merely hang out with them at Neverland. Hey, nothing wrong with the Peter Pan syndrome - I have a bit of it myself! That all said, what I don't support is almost everything he's done in that regard for the last decade.

If I had, say, a 10-year-old little brother, MJ wouldn't get anywhere near him if I had something to say about it! I think many people would feel the same way.

I do have to say, no matter what, I don't wish bad on him - even if he is guilty. I still want him to succeed in life, either with album sales, financially, or just in his personal life. I'm not sure what his future holds -- I think the whole publicity of the trail - and his subsequent problems over the years will stay with him the rest of his life, and will affect how he's seen in the public eye.

From here on, I believe it would be best for him to not ever have a pre-pubescent boy in his house alone with him ever again, unless he wants another lawsuit on his hands.

If you think about it, it's also irresponsible of the kids' parents to LET them spend the night at Michael Jackson's house. In this case, it does seem (notice I said "seem") from what I've observed, that the mother was a bit of a "gold-digger".

I think Michael is a very nice, well-intentioned man who sincerely does like children and wants to help them. As I said, I think he's lost a bit of a grip on reality. Misguided but by no means a bad person.

All just IMO. :)

I was surprised how much eminem thrashed him on his "ENCORE" album!!

Well, I agree with Spotty on the fact that he's a great musician and deserves our respect on that part, but, even though this doesn't really have anything to do with Michael Jackson, I'm upset over the fact that he got off, when he was more likely to have been guilty than Schappelle Corby getting 20 years for the supposed drug smuggling. Is the justice system in this world really as currupt as letting a grown man letting young children sleep in his bed, while a woman can get 20 years in jail for something where all the evidence was against her doing it. Sorry that I went off MJ a bit, but that's just how I feel. I still love his music and all that, but I remain convinced that this whole situation is unfair.

I am one of the many people that is happy that Michael Jackson was innocent.

Although I thought that Michael was going to go to jail when the trail started. As I watched more and more of the reenactment of the trail I saw that everyone that was on the stand against Mike was acting real weird.

The mother and her kids were both very weird on stand, they acted as if they had practiced it alot. The reason why Mike got was because there was not enough evidence. Everyone that testifyed against Mike acted like they didn't know what they were talking about. Mike has been very strong these past couple months, he has been very sick due to stress. He lost so much weight and never slept. Mikes family said when he got home that day of the trail he went straight to bed.

Now i must admit that Mike has changed ALOT over the past couple years. People often think that Mike went from black to white by his own doing. The real reason was because Mike suffers from a disease that destroyes the pigment in his skin causing parts of his skin to change white. Michael had a surgery done to make him white because the disease looks ugly.

Im not here to back up Mike Im just saying why his skin changed.HAHA Now the subject on the surgeries on his face are a different story. He thinks that he has a big nose because of his father telling him his nose was big when Mike was little, and that Mike always had bad bad acne.

His father would tell him he was ugly and that noone would want to look at someone like that! So Mike had all this surgery done because he still thinks he looks bad, he never use to but now he does!! Like I said I am happy that Mike got off because I don't think he is out there to hurt little kids he is just a big primary target for people that want money. I hope you guys understand that I am not trying to be a jerk! Im just tellin you guys the facts. I hope you guys understand once again. Peace!

ROCK ON MJ :martyjr:

^ I understand where you are coming from. But to claim you have told us all the "facts" would be incorrect.

Just because the jury found him innocent doesn't mean he is.

One juror even said, after the trial was over, that Michael probably has molestered boys, but that wasn't what this trial had been about, it was only about one boy and his mother. No doubt the mother was after money, but I don't think anyone can say what happened between the boy and Michael.

I've heard Mike say he isn't going to sleep with boys anymore.

GOOD!!

Has anyone here had the urge to sleep with pre-teen boys?

No? I didn't think so.
