The song Marty plays to scare George is a guitar clip from Van Halen, just called "Untitled" -- it wasn't part of a song on any of their albums. The clip, I've heard, can sometimes be found on Kazaa, or the like.

(Maybe, in the 'BTTF universe', it was on one of their albums, or Marty taped it off the radio, explaining how he "owned" it. ;) )

I thought at one time on BTTF.com someone identified it as a real song, even offered a clip from said song. hmmmm, maybe only in my mind.

You might be thinking of the pople who said it was "Donut City". I was able to track down this intrumental by Eddie Van Halen (used in the movie the Wild Life with Eric Stoltz and Lea Thompson and on its soundtrack) and I can say no part of its four minute running time was used in BTTF. Apparently there were other parts Eddie Van Halen did for the movie that were not Donut City bubt were used in the Wild Life. I have also heard that Steven Spielberg asked Eddie Van Halen to do the clip for the movie.

In any case, the song is NOT "Donut City", but "Untitled". Hopefully somebody who has seen the Wild Life can confirm the clip used in BTTF is the same.

As for the BTTF universe thing, I think that Marty taped the solo from a 1984 Van Halen concert he went to.

A while ago in an old post I did offer the "Donut City" song as well as the actual clip used in BTTF. I did e-mail it to some people and if you would like either or both of those songs/clips I still have them so feel free to e-mail me. :)
