Anyone watch this long running British sitcom?

About a man who has a wife in the present, but also has a girlfriend back in ww2 London. He goes back and forth without anyone knowing but his best friend.

'Poor girls' I keep thinking! But my Mum laughs, so he can't be all evil. lol.

i havent watched that in ages. its on UKTV Gold aint it?
last time i watched that it was enjoyable, my kind of life.

I used to love watching that! I haven't seen it since it aired though so I bet it looks a bit dated now!

The last series was interesting, it got quite serious, didn't it - but I won't say any more for those that haven't seen that far yet.

It was a comedy but it did have its darker moments. It was a novel idea though with some very interesting moral dilemmas, such as; Is it really adultery if your wife hasn't even been born yet?

Goodnight Sweetheart had some funny moments such as the bank note joke. However I didn't find it that funny, not as good as something like One Foot in the Grave or Only Fools and Horses.

I agree that Only Fools & Horses was the best but think Goodnight Sweetheart was better than One Foot in the Grave because there was just too much griping and "I don't be-lieve it" in the latter! Nothing of substance, sadly!

I've been following it quite a bit. Its being re-run on UKTV here.

Yesterday Gary was struck by lightning and a double of himself apperered. The double then went on "going out" with both Phoebe and Yvone. And Yvone likes the new Gary very much.

Lol, my parents love that show! Especially my dad. Yeah I noticed it was back on on UKTV on Austar, I watched it from the computer, it was one where both his wife and his girlfriend wanted to move to California! :D

The one on today was about Gary going back even further in the past and being suspected of being Jack the Ripper!!

Lol, I bet that one was funny! I've been thinking of watchin it on a regular basis, it interest me. When is it on, I can't remember when I watched it?

I'm not particularly a fan of Nicholas Lyndhurst, and the bits of this series which I did catch didn't particularly grab me, I'm afraid.

I remember this, used to love it when it was first on! :D

Haven't seen it lately though! I can remember the way it ended but like Kath, I won't spoil the surprise for anyone who hasn't seen it!!!
