Title: Songs Marty Could've Played Besides Jbg

List songs that Marty could've played besides Johnny B. Goode. Rather than revive the one on BTTF.com, I've decided to create it as we can use explicit titles.

I wonder how 50s kids would react to these songs including yours?

Jump - Van Halen
Roll Over Beethoven - Paul Shaffer and the World's Most Dangerous Band

Post songs that Marty could've played besides Johnny B. Goode or I'll think of some more.

Sail Away by Enya. An obvious choice there.

Ummm . . . the Inspector Gadget theme, that would have blown the kids away.

and last but not least, I am the Walrus by Johnny and the Beatles.

Wanted Man - George Thorogood

Bat Out of Hell - Meat Loaf

American Pie - Don McLean

Achy Breaky Heart - Billy Ray Cyrus - I wonder if 50s kids ever do line dancing?

Let's keep going, shall we?

I would expect most people to pelt me with heavy objects for admitting to love that one, hehe! Glad you won't. :D

Slightly off-topic, but one thing about that song I always thought was cool (besides the obvious San Francisco references!) was that Grace Slick became the oldest artist with a #1 hit. She was 46 in 1985 - almost the same age as George & Lorraine.

It also peaked in November 1985 (yes, I'm a major trivia nerd!), so I could imagine something like this in the TP timeline:

Lorraine: "Isn't it terrible, George? Someone as old as we are making hit songs and appealing to kids Marty's age." LOL. ;)

EDIT: A few more that fit the mid 80's:

"Heat is On" Glenn Frey
"Rebel Yell" Billy Idol
"Some Guys Have All the Luck" Rod Stewart
"Talking in Your Sleep" The Romantics
"We're Not Gonna Take it" Twisted Sister
"Centerfield" John Fogerty
"Owner of a Lonely Heart" Yes
(PS: I love doing a Beavis & Butthead-ish headbang to the opening guitar riff! The '55 teens might like this 'cause it's both a dance song and a hard rock song).
