FUTURE GIRL:
Well, it took me a month and 19,000 words, but I finally finished the third vignette in my little 1955 trilogy, "The Other Great Mystery of the Universe." (Not to be confused with a same-titled story on fanfic.net.) Yes, terming this a vignette when it's actually longer than an original fanfic I did -- and might do better under a "novella" distinction -- is pushing it, but.... Sorry? *weak smile*

This will probably be my last brand new thing for a few months, at least, as I delve back into finishing PIT2 (the second book in my series) so enjoy.... And let me know what you think!

Very nice. I was sort of expecting Doc's girlfriend to crop up here somewhere, wasn't Jill in one of the old BTTF3 scripts? Also I remember from an old BTTF1 script on your site, something about Doc and Xerox (X-Rox lol). Your Doc reacted the same way lol. Its always fun to see stuff like that in fanfiction. One day I'm gonna have to find a printing place so I can print out the best of your works so I don't always have to read them off my monitor. Ehh my eyes.

Well, yes -- that's where I took it from, as I explained in the intro. I like to sometimes try new things with writing, like translating screenplay stuff to prose.

once again kristen awesome story..in fact i stayed up reading it when i should be in bed sleeping cause i have to get up early for school but it was well worth it! once again great job!

JOSHUAJSTONE:
Great job as always. Though yeah, it's lengthy compared to the other vignettes, it does cover a fair amount of time. As well, it tries to answer some things the movie had always left me wondering, like about Marty's letter. I always figured if I were Doc, after Marty returned I'd be likely to think "Well, see, things turned out fine. That letter wasn't so important after all."

The dream sequences were bizarre, but that's the way with dreams, and they put a smile on my face.

Yeah, that was the point. Humor. A lot of times when I've written dreams in stories, I've made them more foreboading or foreshadowing, etc. (Just look at the other dreams in the other 2 1955 vignettes.) In this case, I decided to just be goofy, taking everything that Marty had gone through or seen and heard the last few days and blending it as random as I could be. (Which meant I had to write it when I was in a silly mood; fortunately, one of my friends was there to goad me along.) My own dreams are more like this -- strange bits and pieces of current and recent events/concerns/stresses in my life clashing together in the most far out scenarios that seem very weird to the conscious mind, but completely normal to the unconscious -- than the foreboading, dark variety. In the novel of BTTF3, too, it mentioned Marty having "strange western dreams" lately, so I just went with that.

This is a great fic surrounding Doc's women troubles with Jill Wooster. There have been several variations written surrounding Jill Wooster, but she's the only author I know to have it take place during Marty's return in 1955. She writes great vignettes, and reading them is like watching deleted scenes from the movie. It's a must-read.
