Title: Name That Song Game

BeanieRobert2001 - August 27, 2004 05:27 PM (GMT)
This is how the game goes.Someone will quote a song and the next person will say the song name and the song singer and then they will continue the game by saying a quote from a different song.

I'll start:

"Y'all act like you never seen a white person before
Jaws all on the floor like Pam, like Tommy just burst in the door"

Lil' White Dove - August 27, 2004 08:13 PM (GMT)
Eminem, "The Real Slim Shady"

Here's the next song:

"I don't know why you were inverted,
No one alerted you."

Eastwood McFly - August 27, 2004 11:58 PM (GMT)
"While My Guitar Gently Weeps"- The Beatles

(Quick question isn't it "I don't know how you were inverted. No big deal just wondering.) :)

I'll give a nice long lyric to make it easier.

"Our hearts were ringing
In the key that our souls were singing.
As we danced in the night,
Remember how the stars stole the night away" :D

Blind Spot - August 29, 2004 09:50 PM (GMT)
^ "Dancing in September" Earth Wind & Fire.:D

Cool song. In fact, here's one that's related in a way (but I won't tell you how, obviously). :P

"She's got a hold on you, believe it.
Like no other, before you know it, you'll be on your knees.
She's an...
She'll take your heart but you won't feel it"

Eastwood McFly - August 30, 2004 12:12 AM (GMT)
QUOTE (Blind Spot @ Aug 29 2004, 04:50 PM)
^ "Dancing in September" Earth Wind & Fire.:D

I never heard it like that but maybe you are right. You are still right but I only heard it as September. I regreted putting those up because I looked in a earlier topic and saw that I posted the same lyrics with the title and group.

As for your song IDK, I will get back to you on that. :D

Lil' White Dove - August 30, 2004 12:43 AM (GMT)
QUOTE (Eastwood McFly @ Aug 27 2004, 06:58 PM)

Hehe, no problem. It's one of my favorite songs, so I didn't mind checking. B) It is "why."

Oh, and I don't know what Spotty's song is either.

Blind Spot - August 30, 2004 01:11 AM (GMT)
^ Hehe. believe it or not, I actually had that very song playing when I first read this topic. :D

I always thought it was "how" myself, LOL.

BTW I think I picked too hard of one. I just latched on to David's Earth Wind & Fire mention. It was "Easy Lover" from Phil Collins & Philip Bailey (Bailey was in EWF - hence the connection). It's a happy rock/pop song from 1985 or so. :D

Okay, here's an easier one...

"He had a nasty reputation as a cruel dude
Said he was ruthless, said he was crude."

outatimedelorean - August 30, 2004 01:48 AM (GMT)
"Life in the Fast Lane" The Eagles

"Beginning to think that I'm wasting time
I don't understand the things I do
The world outside looks so unkind
Now I'm counting on you
To carry me through"

Eastwood McFly - August 30, 2004 03:02 PM (GMT)
"Drift Away" by Uncle Kracker

Here is one:

"Stuck in a meeting on Monday night
Trying to get the numbers to come out right
I'm getting tired, I think I just might need a drink"

outatimedelorean - August 30, 2004 09:12 PM (GMT)
"Little Red Light" Fountains of Wayne

"Time is passing, slowly passing you by
You better try to find it before it passes you by
As I watch you walking to another cold dawn
And you keep on walking
And they keep on talking
Talking all along"

Eastwood McFly - August 31, 2004 01:45 PM (GMT)
"The Show Goes On" by Bruce Hornsby

"Test the sea rising at your feet
How far can you go
Til you need God's helping hand"

outatimedelorean - September 4, 2004 11:08 AM (GMT)
"Two Rivers" - Avril Lavigne

"She walks into Smokey's one hip at a time
Like a broken field runner slipping through the line
He likes the way she looks so he calls the lil' wife
Says, 'Don't wait up for me, I'll be working late tonight'"

Eastwood McFly - September 4, 2004 01:38 PM (GMT)
"Third Rock From The Sun"- Joe Diffie

"Conditioned to hate and them to blame
Their search for God is just the same
Machines for hearts, how warped a view"

Blind Spot - September 15, 2004 02:12 PM (GMT)
^ I'd been killing myself trying to think of this one for a long time (and I wasn't gonna look it up 'cause that's cheating).

Lenny Kravitz, "Fear"

Okay, here's mine. I made it as easy as possible:

He got the action, he got the motion
Where the boy can play
Dedication, devotion
Turnin' the night time into the day

Do the song about a sweet lovin' woman
Do the song about the night.
And you do the walk
Do the
[SONG TITLE]"

Hints: The lyrics are sung kinda fast-paced, so they're harder to decipher. It's an upbeat pop/rock song with a sporting arena feel. And it's from the 80's (big surprise huh? LOL).:D

BeanieRobert2001 - September 18, 2004 03:47 PM (GMT)
Walk Of Life by Dire Straits.
Of course, I didn't know that so I had to ask my aunt. I hope thats not cheating!

Ok, my turn:
"Inspiring,shining,rising
and when your in my way
I'm not dividing me from you cause we're working together"

It's a rock song.

Shandy - May 19, 2005 11:06 PM (GMT)
^ "Time And Time Again" - Choronic Future.

"I'll try to be satisfied just to walk close by your side.
Maybe you'll see things my way before we get to grandma's place."

Blind Spot - May 19, 2005 11:14 PM (GMT)
^ Bowling for Soup's "Lil' Red Riding Hood" (the same band that did "1985"). ;)

Okay, here's another one - it's almost from the 80's (big surprise from me, LOL!):

"There were 73 of us livin' in a cardboard box. All I got for Christmas was a lousy bag of rocks. Every night for dinner, we had a big ol' chunk of dirt! If we were really good, we didn't get desert."

Shandy - May 19, 2005 11:21 PM (GMT)
^ lol. It's weird Al! But I don't know the name. Something about parents telling their kids . . .

Can I cheat and google weird Al's lyrics? Thanks.

"When I was Your Age!" of course!!

here's mine- (I Love this song)

"Gonna make everything, pretty mama
Gonna make everything all right
And I ain’t got no worries
because I ain’t in no hurry at all"

Blind Spot - May 19, 2005 11:45 PM (GMT)
^ Doobie Brothers, "Black Water".

Even though my favorite of theirs is "Listen to the Music" (great 70's summertime rock song - more pop-oriented), that's a good one too. A little slower and countryish.

That Weird Al one has always been one of my all-time favorites, despite it being not a "hit" or a parody. ;)

OK, here's another one (BTW you can Google lyrics anytime, just long as you promise to try and figure them out first, LOL!):

"All my life, there's been heartache and pain, I don't know if I can face it again. Can't stop now, I've travelled so far, to change this lonely life."

Shandy - May 19, 2005 11:50 PM (GMT)
^ you love the 80's don't you. All those songs remind me of being a young boy.

I want to know what Love is, I want you to show meeeee -Foriegner.

"It's down to me, yes it is, the way she does just what she's told,
Down to me, the change has come . . "

Shandy - May 21, 2005 01:53 PM (GMT)
Too hard? I'll give a clue -

"gathers no moss"

LonePineKath - May 21, 2005 06:57 PM (GMT)
The Rolling Stones! Under My Thumb!

Here's a (hopefully) easy one to get that ball rolling!

(If Spotty doesn't get this I'll be shocked! It's his decade - that's the clue!)

Oh don't let it kill you baby, don't let it get to you
Don't let it kill you baby, don't let it get to you
I'll be your bleedin' heart, I'll be your cryin' fool
Don't let this go too far, Don't let it get to you.

Shandy - May 25, 2005 09:38 AM (GMT)
^ I guess Spot was letting someone else have a crack at this 80's song.
I feel like I'm cheating 'cause he told me on AIM what it was-

The Waiting, Tom Petty. I think they played it in the Simpsons when Homer was waiting to buy his gun (Kath wouldn't know that, because that episode was banned in the U.K :( )

here's mine-

It's a magic carpet ride
Every door will open wide
To Happy people like you,
Happy people like
What a beautiful, Sunny Day

outatimedelorean - May 25, 2005 09:54 AM (GMT)
Sesame Street theme song

This would be really great song to dance to:

An' I said, hey pretty lady, won'cha gi'me a sign
I'd give anything to make you all mine
I'll do your biddin' an' be at your beckon call
Yeah, I never seen anyone lookin' so fine
Man, I gotta have her, she's a one-of-a-kind
I'm goin' once, goin' twice
I'm sold! On the lady in the second row
She's an eight, she's a nine, she's a ten, I know
She's got ruby-red lips, blond hair, blues eyes
An' I'm about to bid my heart good-bye!

Shandy - May 28, 2005 07:18 AM (GMT)
^ John Michael Montgomery

The song is called "Sold"

Here's a tricky one-
All this energy calling me, back where it comes from
It’s such a crude attitude, it’s back where it belongs
All the little kids growing up on the skids go . . .

You have to tell me the television show too

outatimedelorean - May 31, 2005 07:33 AM (GMT)
Cleveland Rocks - Ian Hunter - covered by Presidents of the United States of America

The Drew Carey Show...

Look alive, make a move
Some men win, some men lose
She's the one, she's in control
Spiked heels and rock and roll

Shandy - August 3, 2005 06:24 AM (GMT)
^ Yeah, okay. I think this one has officially died.

Here's a fresh new one-

"But now there's nowhere to hide,
since you pushed my love a side, I'm not in my head! "

Madstunts - August 28, 2005 04:53 PM (GMT)
"Hopelessly Devoted To You" from Grease

Daddy where has the sun gone from the sky

outatimedelorean - August 28, 2005 05:22 PM (GMT)
^Not sure if that's a real song. Somebody else can figure it out.

QUOTE (outatimedelorean @ May 31 2005, 02:33 AM)

What? Can't anybody figure this one out?

Here's a hint:

Its a Ted Nugent song, but I'm not saying which one.

Shandy - November 23, 2005 08:35 PM (GMT)
another hint ???

outatimedelorean - November 23, 2005 10:03 PM (GMT)
^The hell with it.

The answer to the Ted Nugent song is:
High Heels in Motion
