Hey everyone i just got the new Alter Bridge cd and i must say its alot better then Creed. Creed was my favorite band and i was very upset to hear that they disband. But Alter Bridge gave Tremonti, Phillips, and Marshall to finally show what they can do as musicians. I think that Scott Stapp might have had something to do with them not being able to show what they can do but now they have shown it. If you like that kind of music then i suggest that you got and pick up the cd or check it out. Its awesome. :buford:
Sounds cool, and I'm glad you enjoy it, though I hardly know about those guys.:o
Sorry dude, but I don't much care for new music (new, like after 1992). Now, don't get me wrong, just 'cause I mostly like classic rock, and especially anything from the 80's :D, I'll still give most anything a chance.
What do they sound like? If it's not some kind of depressing grunge/post grunge rock, I'll consider giving it a try. Even though I'm not big on anything today, I'd say the pop/punk genre would probably be my "favorite." At least that stuff is slightly fun/happy sounding.
they are really good. If you have ever heard anything from Creed then that will give you a pretty basic idea. But they are better i must say. I would say give it a shot and listen to some of their stuff. You might like it...and if you don;t then thats cool.
By the way,
80's music will always rock, no matter what anyone says! B) :buford:
Hey, thanks for the response.
I think Creed is okay lyrically, but their music sounds, I dunno, a little "murky" and dark to me...but you did say AB was better than they were.:) I'll take your word. Alot of the best music is what never gets on the radio (in any era).
I just tend to like more random "here and there" songs from now, as opposed to almost everything 20-30 years ago. I like a few songs from Green Day, Matchbox 20, etc.

Heh, you're the man.:D
EDIT: Just checked allmusic.com (which is kind of the musical equivalent of imdb.com) and you're right. Even though they do feature members of Creed, their style says it's more metal-edged.
Plus, whether or not I like their own music, any band that lists Boston, 38 Special and Creedence as its influences is cool by me. :D I'll give it a shot. Worst thing that can happen is I don't like it and re-sell it.
