Title: Teen Lorraine's Personality
Description: Something I was thinking of...

I was doing a bit of thinking about Lorraine's personality. While she did appear to be a popular girl in school, I don't think she was really a snob. I think, even though she was pretty wild, she was very kindhearted - and I don't think she ever had anything against George. I mean, I don't think they were exactly friends - but I would simply be because, well, maybe Lorraine just didn't know George that well. I mean, she had her own group of friends. I don't think ever thought anything badly about Calvin Klein being friends with George, either.

In the original timeline, I think Lorraine truly did care about George - and did her best to be supportive of him. She maybe coddled him a bit, which maybe caused George to be a little clingy. As a result, there pobably came a time where Lorraine grew frustrated with George - but I don't think she ever really stopped liking him. George had probably also managed to put the family in financial debt, some of the time - and that might've also made Lorraine irritated with him.

There were probably even the fights over child-rearing. There were probably times, when George just gave the kids the permission to do something - that Lorraine didn't want them doing. While George's spinelessness often irritated Marty and Linda (like with the car) - I'm sure there were other times, when they were pretty grateful to have a permissive father.

How wild did you think Lorraine was back in the day? I know she has sat in a parked car with a boy before, but never went further than kissing. And George was probably not her first boyfriend, maybe first serious one. I don't think she did the deed until the night she married George. It was the fifties. "Nice" girls never dreamed of having sex before marriage.

Well, I wouldn't be too sure of that. She seemed a bit rebellious. I don't think he ever did any harder drugs, just smoking and drinking. I'm not saying that she slept around, and I think she was still a virgin in 1955. I think the point of showing her do all these crazy things, though - was to point out that teenagers weren't necessarily innocent in 1955.

I guess I never thought much about the sex before, to be honesty. A few months ago, when Flaming Trails asked for opinions of whether or not Doc and Jill did the deed - I pretty much was convinced that they didn't.

I think sex is pretty overrated, in my opinion - and I don't like how everything is sexualized these days. I'd ather have a loving guy hold me tenderly, than do the deed with them. Also, I don't understand some of the squeeing about seeing Michael J Fox with his pants off. I think his face is a lot of lovely to look at.

Maybe, when Lorraine suggested having Marty sleeping in her room - she maybe just wanted to have him hold her tenderly. Still, the fact that she took off Marty's pants... Well, to be fair, she did leave on Marty's underwear. But, still...

That's what I meant, actually. I think Lorraine was still a virgin in 1955.

I don't think Doc and Jill had sex either. Jill seemed like the prudish conservative daddy's girl type that "won't go to bed till I'm legally wed."

Considering the way her father was, and the way she took after him, you're probably right. :)

I don't remember Flaming Trails asking that question. Did she ask it on Livejournal?

Yeah, at livejournal. :) Speaking of which, I haven't updated mine in some time. I maybe should.
