Title: It Runs On Steam
Description: A little debate...

On the other board, there seems to be a little debate about whether Doc meant that the steam is just makes the train run - or if the steam is what powers the flux capacitor. For all we know, it could be used to power both. We have to keep in mind that a train from the 19th Century is much different from a 1980s' car, so they are going to require different uses. The flux capacitor in the train was also built, using 19th century parts. What are your thoughts?

I think the steam powers both the train and the Flux Capacitor.

That's what I think, too! When Doc gets another DeLorean, though - that will need the flux capacitor. I wonder what the DeLorean ran on, in The Animated Series.

In an early draft of Part III, I think it was the paradox script, Doc makes it clear that the flux capacitor can run on steam.

Probably on Mr. Fusion.

Than that would probably be right. I know the earlier scripts aren't really canon, but bits and pieces like that are most likely.
