Title: What Would Doc Think About Other...
Description: time travel films?

I've mentioned in the past that I think Doc would have some real issues with Bill and Ted. I mean, Bill and Ted seem to break every time travel rule in the book - but bringing all these historical figures into the future.

I think he would like Time After Time, though - especially after he marries Clara. I think HG Wells would probably be his second favourite author, after Jules Verne.

I'm not so sure about In His Father's Shoes or Peggy Sue Got Married, though. Both deal with people astrally travelling into the past. Although, one becomes his father - and the other becomes her younger self. The only problem I really have with either movie, is that nothing is addressed about what happens with Clay's father or Peggy Sue's younger self.

I think Doc would be somewhat disapproving about how Peggy Sue attempts to change the course of future events - but, in the end, she doesn't really change anything.

What are your thoughts? What do you suppose Doc would think about other time travel movies you've seen?

I think he would have issues with them, that's for sure.

In what ways, do you suppose - and which movies?

I think he would have issues with all of them.

Why is that?

BTW, I'll start a new topic in the Time Travel section about the problem I have with In His Father's Shoes and Peggy Sue Got Married.

I don't know. Because there's no flux capacitor.

Actually, I guess I wasn't really thinking about the obvious. I think he would understand that there are all different kinds of time travel movies, with different theories behind them. I think he'd actually be more borderline with In His Father's Shoes and Peggy Sue Got Married - but I think he would have a issue with Bill and Ted, though, as they end up doing all kinds of risky things that could potentially disrupt the fabric of the space-time continuum and create a paradox.

I think he would also have a problem with Somewhere In Time, because of the whole pocket watch paradox. One possible explanation, though, is that we're only seeing the final timeline in the movie.

I guess Doc would like Time After Time, as well as The Time Machine.

Yeah, you're probably right. I have to admit I don't have as much interest in The Time Machine, though - because of how he travels to an insanely far distance into the future.
