Well, we all have our standards for what good music is - but this personal strikes me as an intolerant freak who can't respect people with different tastes. There is a difference between saying "I can't stand to listen to nu-metal" and "people who listen to nu-metal are stupid idiots"! The former is expressing a personal opinion, and the latter is insulting eople who disagree with you.

"But they're assholes BECAUSE they listen to bad music."

Uh, no, sorry! I don't think so! :P

"What I did wasn't verbal abuse. I was helping them. They're obviously suffering and because I'm the caring compassionate person I am, I wanted to lend them a hand. Just like an old buddy would. The only thing is, when you lend out your hand to the cops, they're going to put it in cuffs."

I bet if I simply quoted this post, and people didn't know what subject was being discussed - people would most likely assume that this is the rant of a religious fundamentalist who wants to save someone's soul from burning in hell, and makes sure the person gets into heaven. Instead, this is the rant of an intolerant music enthusiast who speaks condescending about another person's tastes in music - under the guise of "concern" and "compassion". Concern and compassion, my ass! :P

This guy is all over the place. He cant see that he was put in jail for insulting a police officer not his taste in music. Because of his comment: "ll be frank; I don't trust a society where the people who watch over it are the least cultured of all the citizens", the cop took this as a direct insult to him and arrested him. This guy needs a life, who in their right mind would go up to strangers and insult them over their music tastes? I certainly would not, that type of music is what I listen to and I don't force that on other people unless they are in my house or my car.

Yeah, I completely agree with you! I mean, you don't butt into other people's business and criticize what choices they make in thei lives. I mean, I should just mind his own business - and there are far more pressing issues in this world to worry about!

Precisely. I see this a lot on the Kerrang! myspace page. People basically b*@%hing about bands they dont like. I'm like, why bother, if you dont like them dont listen to them and for gods sake dont go b*@%hing about it on boards. Fair enough if you feel they have done something you dont agree with, but, instead of writing about this on a worldwide board, put it on your own space. That way, only people who want to read it have to read it. That is what I would do IF I b*@%hed about others tastes and likes/dislikes.

That's stupid. He thinks he's arrested for insulting musical tastes.

Yeah, and I think he was also arrested for butting his nose where it doesn't belong! I mean, there are wars being fought in this world - and his biggest concern in life is with what kind of music the police officers listen to?! Gimme a break!
