Am I the only one who thinks that movie was overrated?

No, you're not the only one. I also have no desire to see the movie. Also, the background music associated with "I made him an offer he couldn't refuse" is just way too creepy.

I have never seen the whole movie. I just couldn't get through it before giving up.

I guess the only other trilogy I really like is Stuart Little, and that's because Michael voiced the little mouse.

I like the Star Wars trilogy. And the X-Men trilogy.

I get the feeling I'm one of the very few Backies that isn't also into Star Wars.

You don't like Star Wars?

bttf44 - January 8, 2008 06:26 AM (GMT)
Well, I don't actively dislike Star Wars - but it's just never captured my interest. It's more of a passive disinterest than anything. I guess I'm just not that much into movies about aliens. I'm just more into things like time travel and alternate realities.

Actually, that was part of why I resistent to checking out ASOUE - but what made me change my mind was the alternate history aspect of the series. That, and I can also somewhat relate to the Baudelaires - having been in the foster care system myself.

I understand. I don't expect every bttf fan to like Star Wars.

Yeah, I guess I'm just more into "down to earth" type of stuff, so to speak. Granted, Star Wars and BTTF are both considered sci-fi - but they're also entirely different genres. In my personal opinion, I guess I just find BTTF to be a lot easier to relate to - especially since a lot of us have probably been curious about if we'd get along with our parents, if they were our peers instead of our parents. Of course, the idea of visiting other time periods is also a very interesting concept.
