You know how that one girl at the Enchantment Under the Sea Dance suggests that George runs for class president? I just realized it's an inside joke to how Bob Gale got the idea in the first place.
When Bob Gale looked through his father's yearbooks, he realized that his father was the class president of his graduating class. Then he thought of how he had nothing to do with the class president of his own graduating class.
Of course, when Marty catches sight of his father at school, there's also a poster for someone running for class president.
I wonder if George ended up running. But he was already a senior, and senior class presidents usually get elected at the end of the junior year.
It would be interesting if he did run, and actually win. Other than Biff and his gang, it did seem like Dixon and some other minor bullies pushed him around. I'm sure it was only a minority of the students that school that actively disliked him. If anything, most probably weren't even aware of him - or else, they just didn't pay him much attention.
The thing is, people will often get caught up in their group of friends - they just don't think to really reach out and make new friends, because they just feel that they have enough friends.
I think George did have quite a few friendly acquaintences, though. I mean, there are these few people who try to be nice to everyone.

Good catch bttf44. I never put that together before.
Thanks! :)
Yeah, I was watching the special features the other day - and heard Bob Gale discussing his inspiration for the movie. Then I was remembering the scene when the girl suggests that George runs for class president, and then it suddenly clicked.
