Title: Biff's Christmas Carol
Description: Might write this for Christmas next year

Okay, with the news of Robert Zemeckis doing his adaption of The Christmas Carol - and possibly bringing back Christopher Lloyd and Michael J Fox, I got to thinking of doing a BTTF adaption of The Chistmas Carol..

Yeah, I did write Marlene's Christmas Carol last year - but what I'm thinking of is a little different from that. Instead of adapting The Christmas Carol to Back to the Future, I was thinking of adapting Back to the Future to The Christmas Carol.

Okay, here's what I'm thinking of:

Ebeneezer Scrooge = Biff Tannen
Bob Cratchet = George McFly
Tiny Tim = Marty McFly

These three are a pretty easy fit, but I have to think of how to fit the others in. Obviously, Biff would be filthy rich in this adaption - but not as poweful and influential as he was in the Hell Valley timeline. The McFlys, on the other hand, are dirt poor.

I believe Tiny Tim is the youngest in his family - I think he had brothers and sisters - so Marty would fit in that respect, too.

Here's what I'm thinking of for the ghosts:

Marley's Ghost: Skinhead
Ghost of Christmas Past: Mr. Strickland (he'll, without a doubt, use the word "slacker")
Ghost of Christmas Present: Goldie Wilson
Ghost of Christmas Future: Doc Brown (this ghost does speak, and he does say "great Scott")

I'm not sure who'd really fit in the role of Isabelle. Certainly not Lorraine!

Now the challenge will be figuring out the where and when this story would take place.

Another idea: The McFlys can't afford to hire a doctor, but a kindly Jennifer Parker offers to assist the family with Marty - and the two quickly fall in love.

Now I have to see who else we can try to fit into the story.

Tiny Tim's oldest brother's name is Peter. He has another brother and sister, but they're only referred to as the young Crachets. There's also Tiny Tim's cousin Martha.

Maybe:
Peter Crachet=Dave McFly
Cousin Martha=Linda McFly (But a sister instead of a cousin in this adaption)

I don't know if Biff loved anyone other than Lorraine, if you call that angry lust of his love. I don't think he loved his own wife. But I guess making Belle and Mrs. Crachet one and the same is out of the question.

Scrooge had a sister. Maybe Biff's half-sister from your stories could be her. Maybe Benny Canata can be Scrooge's nephew Fred. I wonder who will be Fezzywig.

I wasn't even really thinking about characters from my fics, just the movies - but that's a good idea about the roles Dave and Linda could play.

I might have to do some age shifting, and this story would be heavily AU. Neither Betsy Tannen nor Benny Canata world really fit, as both are pretty mean-spiited in the normal universe. Maybe I'll use Jill Tannen as Biff's twin sister in the story - even though, in the normal universe, Jill is his aunt (and Jiff's twin sister). For the charitable cousin, maybe Jennifer's uncle (Josie's brother).

Yeah, to make Isabelle and Mrs. Cratchet be the same person would through the story a bit out-of-sinc.

The tricky part would be fusing the characterizations of BTTF characters with their The Christmas Carol counterparts - e.g. Biff Tannen as Ebenezer Scrooge says "butthead" and "bah humbug".

Maybe, as a twist of fate, when Doc Brown shows Biff his future, Clara Clayton somehow manages to make an appearance - and Doc gets a crush on her. We had have a whole year to toss along ways to make this work.

Maybe the members of The Pinheads (they wouldn't be a band in this universe) are friends of Marty, and all of them also come from relatively poor families - or maybe only Zach Nelson appears in this story. Or maybe The Pinheads are the carollers who swing by the McFlys, and they take compassion on Marty. Have to think of something there.

Maybe instead of Skinhead being the first ghost to visit Biff, it's Douglas Needles - somehow, in this universe, Biff Tannen and Douglas Needles are about the same age.

The closest I can think of is, maybe Maggie was Biff's old flame - but, after Biff became greedy, Maggie leaves him for Seamus. But then, Seamus and Maggie become the parents of George? Naa! That wouldn't work too well.

I can't think of any of the girls that would really work - from the movies or from my fic stories.

Maybe the Clock Tower Woman - Carol Davenport/Vincent in my stories - also stops by to ask for donations. Would it detract from the story too much, if she asked Biff for a donation to save the clock tower? Or maybe Biff assumes that she wants money to save the clock tower, because that's what her cause is usually about - but Carol tells Biff it's not about the clock tower this time, but for a more charitable cause.

Then again, if Goldie Wilson is the Ghost of Christmas Present, then who's wanting the clock tower to be replaced.
