I'm sure it's no secret to anyone who knows me well, that I'm a huge fan of Michael J Fox. However, that's not why I started liking Back to the Future. In fact, it's really the other way around. I first saw Michael J Fox in Back to the Future, so that's how I came to like him. I was into Marty the character for quite some time, before I realized that I also liked Michael the actor.

Even though I've enjoy family sitcoms in the past, I must admit that my main reason for liking Family Ties is because Michael J Fox in in the series. I got to wondering if certain other Family Ties fans may consider me "not a real fan", or feel offended that I like Family Ties only because Michael J Fox is in it. One thing I should make clear is that, while Michael J Fox was what inspired me to check out Family Ties, I can honestly say it's not the only reason why I like the show. I've come to like the whole Keaton family, and I've come to like the plot of alot of the show's episodes.

Now, with that being said, I'll admit that there are movies I might not like so much, in Michael J Fox wasn't in them. I might still like High School USA and The Secret of My Success, but I probably wouldn't enjoy them as much. With others, though, I have to admit I might be bored watching them - if not for Michael J Fox.

So my question is this: would it offend you if someone liked your favourite movie or TV show, only because his/her favourite actor/actess is in it?

It wouldn't offend me at all. A lot of movies I only saw because of the hot girls in it.

The funny thing is, I never really had any favourite actors - before liking Michael J Fox. It was always musicians, bands, and vocal groups. In fact, I never saw the point to having a favourite actor - because isn't it the characters you fall in love with? When I learned more about Michael J Fox, though, then my love for Marty McFly has extended towards my love for the actor. He truly is a nice guy with a big heart, and cares about other people - and he always was that way, even before he had PD.

Like, in the past, I liked Screech from Saved By The Bell - but not Dustin Diamond so much. Now it sounds like Dustin Diamond may be a bit of a jerk.

It does seem like a lot of people fall in love with Michael J Fox either through Back to the Futue or Family Ties - but there are the rare few who may have first saw him in another movie.
