It was Thanksgiving, and eighteen-year-old Martin McFly III felt so excited. Grandpa Marty and Grandma Jennifer would be stopping by for Thanksgiving meal. Uncle Mike and Aunt Marlene would also stop by, as well as Uncle Aaron and Aunt Melody.
Mike and Marlene Hartford had three girls. Twins Eileen and Meg were nineteen, and Heidi was seventeen. Aaron and Melody Nelson had a seventeen year old daughter, named Suzy. Marty III got along well with all of his cousins, and they were so close.
To the very casual onlooker, they appeared to be your average extended family. This wasn't the case, though - as time travel really played a major role in the family. Earlier in the year, he and his cousins had taken a tour through time. In fact, his parents and aunts joined them - as did their grandparents. They were all teenagers on the tour!
His great-grandfather, Dr. Emmett Brown, had managed to invent a time machine 61 years ago. A real long time ago, when Grandpa Marty was still a rather small boy, he was rescued from some bullies by Great-Grandpa Emmett. Since that day, they quite remained close. He himself was the offspring of Marty McFly Jr and Harmony Brown.
Of course, the relationship went back even further - by twenty years! When Grandpa Marty, who was then seventeen, was quite stranded in 1955 - he went to Dr. Emmett Brown for assistence. Marty Sr had made a rather big difference in Dr. Brown's life.
"Are you excited for Thanksgiving, honey?" Marty Jr asked, as his son stepped into the living room. "Your Uncle Bill and Aunt Jamie will be showing up, as well. It's very much going to be a big crowd. It's a rather good thing we have plenty of chicken."
"I really don't think anyone will complain about having chicken," Harmony commented, as she stepped into the room. "Not many of us are too fond of turkey. It's so strange to think we'll be having the whole crowd together. It's strange to think of how, earlier this year, we all journeyed through time - and we really were all teenagers, as well."
"Yeah, it's strange how time travel really works," Marty Jr commented, as the doorbell rang. "It's looks like we're having guests over, already! In quite an hour, we can have dinner. Then, later on tonight, we really could start decorating our Christmas tree."
"How are you fine folks doing this fine afternoon?" called out Marlene, as she and her husband entered the living room. The girls followed them in. To Marty III, she added, "It must feel rather nice, young Marty - being able to relax this Christmas Season?"
"Oh, you bet!" Marty III gushed, as he hugged his aunt. "I rather did enjoy playing Tiny Tim in a modern adaption of The Christmas Carol last year - but it's great to be free this year. Maybe we could even watch the movie, later on this evening."
"Of course, you really will be filming a movie early next year," Eileen gushed, as she ran to hug Marty III. "You and Michael J Fox are sure going to be starring together, and you will be playing his grandson. It's rather amazing how great Michael is doing, ever since he was cured from Parkinson's disease. He's such a very amazing man."
"Well, Eileen," Meg reminded her twin, laughing, "Marty is the new Michael J Fox - so it's really only fitting to have the two of them star in the same movie. It's so great to have an actor in the family. Eileen and I will be releasing our fourth album soon."
"Yeah, you two were only twelve," Marty III commented, "when your first album was released. Your song from that album, Perfect Harmony, has become a smash hit! Are you still excited about being able to tour Europe this year? I'd just love to join you!"
"It's so neat that we'll be able to record two songs," Eileen pointed out, "for this movie that you and Michael will be starring in. This will be almost like a family project. We just neat how we are one unique extended family. We really do have a great legacy."
"I just wish I had your singing talent," Heidi commented, sighing. "Well, I guess writing is just more my thing. I sure have a series of time travel stories that I'm working on. It will just focus on a girl from 2045, who befriends a girl from 1945. It's called Friends In Time. Of course, I'll really be using a method different from the one Dr. Brown uses."
"I'm so glad that your ambition to write is still there!" Marty III observed. "It must feel very good to fully be a biological member of your family, since the time we kicked Griff Tannen's ass in 2016. You were just affected the most by our voyage through time."
"Well, I remember feeling insecure about it," Heidi replied, "the time that Belle blabbed to me about it, back when I was five. Of course, Mom and Dad quite showed me what the true meaning of family was. It does feel quite good, nonetheless. It's awesome!"
"It felt so good to knock Griff Tannen down a peg or two," Marty Jr added, smiling. "It was thirty years ago, from my end - but, from your end, it was a few months ago. I'm so amazed." He then looked up, as he added, "I guess we just have more company."
"Hi, Uncle Marty," Suzy greeted, as she ran to hug Marty Jr. "It's great that we're all here. Dad is out in the car, getting his ingredients for the pumpkin pie. I must be one of rather few people out of us who loves turkey. Well, chicken's quite nice, too - and the stuffing and cranberry sauce is really good. Dinner will be simply wonderful!"
"Just don't call Grandpa Marty a chicken," Melody teased her daughter. "He nearly got into a terrible accident at seventeen, and you and I wouldn't even exist." To Marty Jr, she added, "I see you've got the greenery up already! Now we just need the tree!"
"Eileen and Meg," Suzy called out, "come with me. There's something I just wanted to discuss with the two of you." To everyone else, she added, "We'll sure be back soon. I just need to spend a little time with the twins." The three girls then left the room.
"Well, we already have the tree," corrected Marty III, laughing. "We really just need to decorate it. I'm simply happy that decorating a Christmas tree has never gone out of style. It'll be nice to make this house look pretty, with all those Christmas lights."
"Hi, folks!" added Jamie Tannen, as she and Bill entered the room. "It's so great that we could all be together. It's quite too bad that Grandpa Emmett and Grandma Clara won't be able to join us. Grandpa's still in the hospital - and, of course, Grandma just wanted to be be him. He's 126 years old, now - actually, he's even older than that."
A wave of sadness came over Marty III, as he glanced at Stephanie and Will. He was quite fond of Great-Grandpa Emmett. If not for that time machine, he might not even exist. After all, Dr. Brown had met his wife back in the Old West - after rescuing her.
"Yeah, it's a real shame," replied Stephanie, Jamie's daughter. "I figured it'd be a real neat way to make our Thanksgiving dinner complete. I mean, there certainly is a long history of behind the friendship of him and..." Stephanie suddenly stopped short.
Marty III glanced over by the doorway, and stammered, "How could the two of you be here? I mean, I'm certainly glad to see that the two of you have shown up, but I thought you'd be in the hospital for a little while. I guess you were cured real fast."
Dr. Brown immediately burst out laughing, as he asked, "Have you already forgotten that I have a time machine?" After taking quite a brief pause, he added, "I just came here from next week. We sure felt rather terrible about missing Thanksgiving dinner, and then we just realized that... well, that the problem could easily be remedied."
"I'm very glad you're here, Great-Grandpa Emmett!" Marty III gushed, as he threw his arms around the aging scientist. "It's so neat to see you, Great-Grandma Clara! This is going to be an even greater Thanksgiving with you. Now, we just need to wait for..."
"We're here!" called out Marty Sr, as he and Jennifer finally showed up. "We might've come sooner, but we did have a few errands we needed to run." Turning to Marty III, he asked, "How are you doing, pumpkin? Come here and give your grandpa a very big hug!" As Marty Sr hugged his grandson, he added, "You're such a wonderful boy!"
"You know, honey," added Jennifer, "You remind me a lot about your grandpa, when he was your age. It's hard to believe it's been so long. I still remember how I met him in school, when we really were assigned to worked on a class assignment together."
"That really sounds romantic!" gushed Suzy, as she entered the room with Eileen and Meg. "It's sure looks like everyone is here!" Turning to Emmett and Clara, she added, "I'm so glad you two were able to show up, as well. We are one very happy family!"
"Yeah, there's just no doubt about it," added Will, cheerfully. "I'd much rather spend Thanksgiving with you guys, than with my other cousins! Actually, they're quite my second cousins - but that means nothing to me. You guys are the cool ones!"
"Dinner's ready!" called out Harmony, as she headed into the liiving room - carrying a large platter. "I'm just glad you showed up, Grandpa and Grandma! Let's all sit at the table. We'll say grace, and then we'll eat. I have quite a lot to be very thankful for!"
As Marty III headed to the dining room table, he thought of how much he had to be thankful for. He had a neat extended family, with quite a nice legacy. His immediate family had a very neat house in Hilldale, which was restored to its pristine condition. Most of all, though, he was rather thankful to be alive! He just had a lot to live for.

Rose Unger, who was seventeen years old, felt very nervous. This was the one time of year she dreaded, for this was actually the one time of year that the entire Unger family would all gather by Grandma Lillian's house for Thanksgiving dinner.
Granted, she was quite fond of her Grandma Lillian - and she always loved spending time at Grandma's house. However, it was her aunts and uncles - and cousins - that she sure dreaded spending any time with. Her mother, Regina, was the black sheep out of her family - for bullying was pretty much a legacy the rest of the family.
Her father, Daniel, also wasn't too fond of the idea. He had agreed to come along, though - after he realized how much Lillian may have to suffer. She was not one to exclude any of her children, so Thanksgivings were always a huge nightmare.
"You sure seem tense, Rose," observed her identical twin sister, Rita. "It's not going to be too bad. Uncle Ivan and Aunt Roll will be there, as well as Ian and..." Her face became ashen, as she added, "Oh, my gosh! Just what will Uncle Ivan and Aunt Roll say about me dating Bobby? It's perfectly legal by California laws, but what will..."
"Just play it quite naturally," suggested Ron, and he and Rex were sitting behind the girls. The boys were also identical twins, and they were two years older. "It's not like they're stodgy old codgers. I mean, they were always very liberal-minded folks."
"Ron is absolutely right," added Rex. "I mean, it's not like you're actually related to him through blood. It was just after Betty married Ian, that it made the two of you become step-cousins. I'm sure everything really will be fine. I'm sure worried about facing our cousins, though - especially Rajan. He never did like us very much."
"Rachel and Ronny are holy terrors, too," commented Rose, nervously, "and they're only ten. They're friends of Kimberly O'Malley, and they just pick on Verne's younger sister. Speaking of which, I really feel bad that things didn't work out with Verne."
"You've been fretting about that for months," Rita chided, gently. "I'm sure you'll be able to meet your man someday. Anyway, I think Verne would have some some real similar insecurities - with regards to Jules, after he and Patti finally tied the knot."
"All right, kids," called out Regina, as turned into the driveway. "I know you children really didn't want to come along, but we are family - and it is just our duty to attend these events. Anyway, Mom always cooks a very fine meal - and Roll and Ivan sure would be happy to see us. The two of them are doing rather great, at their age."
"Yeah, even at 85 years old," commented Ron, "they are healthy as a horse. It's so amazing how well Grandma Lillian has turned out, as well. It's sure a shame that she was so sick some time back, and Uncle Ralph actually took care of raising Aunt Rissy and Uncle Ray. Otherwise, the latter two might have become behaved people."
"I wonder what young Rafe is like," Rose said, as she stepped out of the car. "I quite do remember Bobby telling me about how Uncle Ray had terrorized his older brother - as well as Marty McFly. It's sure strange to think how Marty once wasn't so famous."
"It's so hard to believe his wife is pregnant again," Rita added. "Patti is pregnant, as well. I do wonder what the young kiddies will be like. I wonder if they'll grow up, and become good friend. For all we know, the two of them may even marry each other!"
"Do you remember Fox J Michael?" Rex asked. "It was strange how he actually bore a very striking resemblance to Marty McFly and Michael J Fox. I guess it quite does help that he was related to the latter. I also thought Emily Green really was nice. I wonder if the two of them managed to marry by now. I loved spending time with them."
"Well, it's about time you guys showed up," called out Roll, as she ran up to Rose and the others. "Everyone else has been driving me batty. Rafe rather has a tendancy to bite everyone, and Ronny and Rachel are sure creating a huge ruckus. Even many of the grown men here actually seem to have reverted into grade-school children."
"I can't say I'm surprised about that," repled Regina, as she hugged Rose. "The kids quite dreaded having to come along, but they agreed it'd be very nice to at least be able to see some of you again. So maybe the party won't be all too bad."
"Bobby's here!" called out Rita, excitedly, as a car was pulling up. "I really do have to admit that he and I are going out. I sure figured it'd be okay, as we aren't biologically related. It will certainly make Thanksgiving a little bit more bearable, at least."
Rose watched, as Bobby stepped out of the car with Ian and Betty. There were also Betty's twin daughters, Clara and Carla - who were fourteen. Finally, there was Tina Marie - who was the three-year-old daughter that Ian and Betty had together. They made one happy blended family. Billy and Beth Winterson probably won't show up.
"It's so good that you could make it!" gushed Roll, as the Wintersons walked up. She then scooped up Tina Marie, as she added, "How's my little Tina Marie doing? Do you have any new pictures you'd like to show me? We can make some cookies tonight."
"I really didn't want to come," Ian admitted, quietly. "Betty managed to convince us, though. I know Lillian isn't the kind of person to wish to exclude anyone, and we just couldn't leave her to the clutches of the bullies. We do need some sanity here!"
"You and me both," added Daniel. "Regina managed to rope me into it, though. I sure do agree with you about needing to balance out the bad side of the family. I'm rather concerned about Rafe. I have a feeling that Ray is doing the best he could to corrupt that little tyke. Having your family here will just make the experience more bearable."
"Well, let's head inside," suggested Ivan, as he put his arm around Roll. "The turkey should be done very soon. I sure have to admit I'm concerned that the others could be rough on poor Tina Marie. You know how ruthless these people could really be."
Rose took in a deep breath, as the crowd began to step into the house. She glanced over at Rita and Bobby, and saw how happy they were. The house quite smelled like cinnamon and spice, so it sure had a nice homey feel to it. It was too bad that not all the guests were the most pleasant of people. At least the food would be very good.
Rose then cause Tina Marie looking up ar her, and smiling. "Hi, darling," Rose greeted, as she picked up the little girl. She had quite lovely blond curls and blue eyes. "We can play a game together. We could maybe play Sorry. I know you really like that game."
"Well! Well! Well! Look who's finally showed up!" smirked Rachel, as she reached over to pull on one of Tina Marie's curls - which made the little girl cry. "It's quite the freaks of nature." To Rita and Bobby, she added, "What have we here? Inter-breeding?"
"It's sure none of your God damn business!" snarled Rose. "You know, I'm ashamed to have inbred assholes like you in our family! You ought to be quite ashamed of yourself for picking on a sweet little girl like Tina Marie! You'd better learn some manners!"
"Now, kids!" Grandma Lillian said, as she stepped into the room. "Let's not be fighting like this. The turkey should be ready in ten minutes. It's Thanksgiving! It's sure a day of family togetherness - of peace, harmony, and tranquility. It'll be great if we would all just put aside our differences for one day. It's sure a day for us all to be festive!"
"Right, of course, Grandma!" Ronny gushed, just as she and Rachel ran to hug their grandmother. "We meant no such harm. We were just having a little fun and playing around." Turning around, with a smirk, she added, "Isn't that about right, Rita?"
"Uh, yeah, right," Rita replied, nervously. Turning to Rose and Bobby, she added, "I think we should head outside for a few minutes." Lowering her voice, she added, "I'll just be so glad, after the day is over. Esther and Pauline were wrong. Family or not, we really shouldn't have to placate the family clod just for the sake of family peace."
"It really does disgust me," Rose agreed, "how Rachel and Ronny can just turn on the charm like that, when Grandma is in the room. Of course, they're all trying to win such favour from her. She is a very nice lady, but I think she can sometimes be real naive."
"Hey, kids!" called out Ivan, as he stepped into the kitchen. "Don't go anywhere! The food is on the table. There'll be plenty of time later for you to play. For now, it is time for us to spend time together as a family - and, hopefully, for all of us to get along."
Rose followed everyone into the dining room. As Tina Marie's sobs died down, Rose kissed the top of her forehead. As she glanced at the food on the table, she rather thought the food really was tantalizing. She gently placed Lisa Marie in a high chair, before she took her seat next to Rita - and Bobby was sitting on the other side.
Her heart sank, as she saw Rajan take a seat across from her. He and his gang were always picking on Jules and Verne Brown - along with their scientist father. She really hated the idea of being related to him. A smile sure began to spread across her face, as she thought of how the myserious Fox J Michael made him crash into manure.
"All right, everyone," called out Lillian, as she was carrying a platter of turkey into the dining room. "Dinner's ready! I think this is so good, all of us here together. Now, let's try to make this an enjoyable dinner. For one night, we should be like a real family!"

Hilldale is now a good place to live again. I bet Marty Jr. was really happy about that.
bttf44 - November 12, 2007 06:59 PM (GMT)
Yeah - and probably Marty Sr, as well! Now I have to do one about the Ungers in 1997.
Lillian Unger is a very sweet, grandmotherly type of person - despite having married Russ. By 1957, Russ had an accident, causing his IQ to drastically drop - but it's caused him to mellow out considerably, and become a decent person. However, Ralph was already as bad as his father - and was, thus, a bad influence on Rissy and Rafe. Regina takes after her mother, though.
At some point, Rissy and Ray move in with Ralph.
Maybe I'll throw in Roll, as well. Rock, his wife, and Richard are all deceased - so they won't be there. Maybe Roll is the grandmother of Billy and Bobby Winterson, and maybe their son marries a minor female character from 1955 (maybe the girl who suggested that George runs for class president).
Then we should have a good balance of good characters and bad characters.
A few other thoughts.
As, in The Prized Time Capsule, Bobby mentioned his mother being dead - I guess that means Run For Class President Girl would be dead by 1997. The boy she was with could be Roll's son, and and Billy and Bobby's father. He was also a friendly acquaintence of George McFly - but not a close friend, like Billy Stockhausen and Lester Collins.
I just remembered that I paired up Bobby with Rita, so that might be pushing it a little. I just thought that, instead of making up new characters, we should use ones we already one. On the other hand, they are first cousins once removed - so it might be okay for them to marry. I think anything after first cousins should be fine.
On a side note, how much inter-breeding did I do in my fics? I think Jennifer's parents are the only ones that really did.
I know Jamie and Bill of the Haven Universe is borderline, as Jamie used to be Bill's half sister - but isn't anymore. So is Chester (Whitey) and Leslie (Spike) from Griff's gang, as they have a common half-brother.
Then we also have Miff chasing after Jennifer, and Griff chasing after Marlene - but, of course, Jennifer and Marlene can't stand them.
Of course, the most controversial one (Incest? Ew! Icky!) is the Father Universe - where Marty marries Lorraine, and becomes his own father.

So Russ died in 1977. What happens to Lillian that makes Ray and Rissy move in with Ralph?
bttf44 - November 13, 2007 01:27 AM (GMT)
Still trying to think of that. Maybe she becomes sick, and Regina is the only one who stays beside her.

New ideas! :)
Billy and Bobby's mother is still Run For Class President Girl. However, she passed away - and Billy and Bobby's father, Ian, married Betty, Roll's daughter (and also one of Lorraine's close friends). Betty was also widowed. So Rita and Bobby are step-cousins (once removed). Just had to clear that up. I fogot about the father re-marrying - but Bobby being resentful about it for some time.
