Title: Planning My Nanowrimo Fic
Description: Suggestions would be nice...

Story title: Double Trouble
# of Chapters: 30

Okay, here's how I'm thinking the plot should go:

1. Doc brings Jennifer, Marty, and Calvin back to 1885. Instead of saving Clara Clayton, they save Clara Parker - whom Calvin falls in love with. Calvin becomes injured, and Doc becomes ill - so the group heads to the year 2016.

2. Once in 2016, Sabrina Palmer's eldest son, Daniel Wilkins, is a doctor - and he ends up taking in Calvin, passing him off as Alex (formerly Calvin Jr). Alex is in tears, when he sees his father. Meanwhile, Marty poses as Alex - as he spends time with Marty Jr.

3. Doc ends up grabbing Marty Jr and Alex by mistake, and taking them back to 1986 - leaving Marty and Calvin in 2016. Doc has to work hard to repair the time machine, before a time paradox occurs.

What do you think, so far? :)

BTW, Needles, do you mind if I use John Wayne Eastwood for Calvin's alias? I'm thinking the introductions should go like this:

Marty: I'm, uh, Eastwood... Clint Eastwood!
Calvin: My name's John Wayne... Eastwood!

The story sounds awesome. And you can use John Wayne Eastwood.

Hey, thanks! According to NaNoWriMo rules, I can't start actually writing the story until November 1st - but I can think thinking of ideas and making outlines for the story. For the Twins Universe being my favourite AU, its story count is very small - so I'm thinking this novel lengh story should make up for it a little.

Is there any reason why you can't write it until November 1st?

I have a lot to do in November. Can I start in October and end early?

No. One of the best things about NaNoWriMo is the way it spreads the agony of creation throughout a large community of co-sufferers. For the pain to be properly distributed (and thereby diminished), all participants must be working on the same deadline.

Do I have to start my novel from scratch on November 1?

Yes.

This sounds like a dumb, arbitrary rule, we know. But bringing a half-finished manuscript into NaNoWriMo all but guarantees a miserable month. You'll simply care about the characters and story too much to write with the gleeful, anything-goes approach that makes NaNoWriMo such a creative rush. Give yourself the gift of a clean slate, and you'll tap into realms of imagination and intuition that are out-of-reach when working on pre-existing manuscripts.

Does that mean I can't use an outline or notes?

Outlines and plot notes are very much encouraged, and can be started months ahead of the actual novel-writing adventure. Previously written prose, though, is punishable by death.

What is NaNoWriMo, anyway?
