I'm thinking of using Clint and Calvin as Jules and Verne's middle names. Jules' middle name in the animated series is unpronounceable and Verne's middle name was already used for Doc's dog in the 60s.

So Jules Clint and Verne Calvin? Yeah, I agree with you on Jules' middle name - but I also think it would make more sense for Doc to use Marty's nicknames for the boys, in hono of his friend. After all, the boys are already named after their favourite author.
