Title: Accepting Shyness

I know most people on this message board probably are not shy, but this is for anyone who might be, or who may even browse around but not post much because they are shy.

I would really encourage anyone who is shy to not hold it against themselves, just because shitty society may say that you need to be outgoing and loud and shit. Being shy is one of the best qualities that can be found in another person and there are many people out there who apprecitate it. I won't say that being shy is better than being extroverted (though I personally believe it is), but I am saying that if you are shy, it is something you should not only accept, but be thrilled with and should know that there are others out there like you who appreciate you so much.

This is sort of just an APB. If anyone is shy and wants to talk about it, this is the topic, and I'd be more than happy to discuss it. It's not anything to be ashamed of or worried about, but is a lovely quality that only the blessed have, because shyness is a result (usually) of being more introverted, and the more thoughtful, caring, kind, considerate people are those who are introverted, I find.

Believe me, I'm much more vocal on the internet than I am in my day-to-day interactions! I'm generally quiet when I'm around strangers.

Yeah, I do find the internet is a good place for shyer people to express themselves - in fact you can sometimes get to know someone much better on the internet than in real life.

I just get upset when someone wants to "overcome" or "cure" shyness. To me, you should be proud of being a quieter type. It can be hard because society tends to devalue that type of personality, but society only values what is convenient for keeping society running, not traits that are beneficial in other more important areas of life.
