Title: Important Dates In Trilogy Universe
Description: To organize things a little...

bttf44 - September 17, 2007 06:20 PM (GMT)
Due Date Calendar

Marty's birth ~ June 20, 1968

Doc and Clara's anniversary ~ November 30, 1885/1977

Jules' birth ~ August 12, 1886/1978

Verne's birth ~ May 31, 1888/1980

Haven's birth ~ November 12, 1986

Marlene's birth ~ September 5, 1997

Marty Jr's birth ~ June 17, 1998

This way, if Marty and Haven go back in time August 31 of 1997 - Jules will have just turned 19, Verne will have just turned 17 three months ago, and Jennifer will still be pregnant with Marlene. It will still be possible for Marty Jr to be born on June 17 of 1998 - and Doc and Clara won't be committing a scandelous act in the Old West.

bttf44 - January 13, 2008 02:28 PM (GMT)
Important Interdimensional Notes:

Post-Crisis Jamie Brown of the Haven Universe has the same genetic structure as Melody Brown of the Trilogy Universe. Pre-Crisis Jamie Brown was born one day earlier.

Marty McFly III is the same person in all the universes.

Alex McFly of the Twins Universe is the interdimensional counerpat of Alex McFly of the Almanac Universe.

needles1987 - January 14, 2008 08:32 PM (GMT)
You know, the reason I originally wanted Jules and Verne to be 7 and 9 in 1985 was so they could enter adulthood in the mid-90s. But having them 3 years younger than originally planned doesn't hurt. Verne graduates in 1999.

bttf44 - January 15, 2008 12:00 AM (GMT)
Oh, I see... With my arrangement, Jules would be one year younger than me. I think the '80s would be a great decade to be a kid in. I know I did something a little unusual in my ficverse, by involving a witch to alter history. So, for Jules and Verne to remember two different childhoods from two different eras would be even more confusing than Marty remembering two different pasts. Aside from his family, probably everything else was pretty much the same for Marty - aside from his "chicken" problem.

Of course, Jamie Brown and Heidi Hartford from the Haven Universe ae in a very unusual situation, as well - even though Heidi's appearances didn't change as drastically.

In both the Trilogy and Haven Universes, Haven went through some fourth-dimensional excursions while still in the womb. In the Haven Universe, Haven was conceived back in 1893 - and was born not long after the Browns moved back to 1985. In the Trilogy Universe, Clara was pregnant with Haven - when she spent a few weeks in the Orwell Universe. I didn't really plan it that way. Clara initially wasn't pregnant, when I was writing Down with Big Brother - but after deciding to have the Browns' third child born on November 12, it would retroactively make it so that Clara was pregnant during the events of that fic.

needles1987 - January 15, 2008 12:34 AM (GMT)
I guess it's too late to change it now.

bttf44 - January 15, 2008 12:46 AM (GMT)
Well, it's your ficverse - but I personally really don't like the idea of Doc waiting three more years before moving back to 1985.

needles1987 - January 15, 2008 12:50 AM (GMT)
It's just that I personally would've preferred being a teen in the early-mid 90s over mid-late 90s. At least they entered adulthood before 2000.

bttf44 - January 15, 2008 12:55 AM (GMT)
It's actually worked out perfectly for The Prized Time Capsule - because, in 1997, Verne was 17 and Jules was 19. Also, Jennifer was very pregnant with Marlene at the time. I did initially imagine the girls who comforted Marty in one of my Marty's Wept stories as being a little older - but it was no big deal to change that. I just had Bridget's house be near the railroad tracks.

needles1987 - January 15, 2008 02:02 AM (GMT)
Does Bridgett live in Hilldale?

bttf44 - January 15, 2008 02:30 AM (GMT)
No, she lives on the other side of the railroad tracks.

needles1987 - January 15, 2008 04:38 AM (GMT)
That's right. Hilldale was just built in 1985. She probably lived by the tracks longer than Hilldale has been around.

bttf44 - January 15, 2008 02:17 PM (GMT)
Right, exactly. I actually don't think anyone lived in Hilldale yet in 1985.

You know, I was thinking a little bit about interdimensional counterparts. Haven Brown of both the Haven and Trilogy Universes will probably be the same person, in spite of her being born a year earlier in the former.

I know a couple of fanfic writers who plan to make Marty much younger then he was in the movie. It sounds like a very interesting concept, and I'll have to see how that ones goes. It kind of would change the whole premise of the trilogy, though.

Flaming Trails has Boy Genius, which has Emmett (Doc) and Marty both be 17 in 1885 - and it's really not the same as the 1885 we saw in Part III. It takes place in Europe, and steam-powered technology has started to develop - so it's actually an alternate universe. It's basically the Girl Genius Universe with BTTF characters in it. It's a very interesting read.

needles1987 - January 15, 2008 04:34 PM (GMT)
So Boy Genius is retro-futuristic and pretty much how Jules Verne envisioned the future?

bttf44 - January 15, 2008 11:54 PM (GMT)
Pretty much, yeah. There's a species of people in that universe called "sparks", which are people who have mad scientist tendencies. There's sort of an anti-spark sentiment in the town where Emmett lives - and, quite fitting, Emmett himself ends up being a spark. His extremely anti-spark father is even of a jerkass in that universe, than he is in the other universes.

bttf44 - March 25, 2008 04:32 AM (GMT)
It's actually not until somewhat recently, that I started doing some pondering over kids that Doc would be having in the non-Trilogy/Haven Universes. I didn't even come up with Jessica Hoffman, until I started writing The Way We Could've Been. I thought it would be neat to have Jessica be a descendant of Clara's sister.

Here's what I'm looking at, for the Newlyweds/Gravestone Universes:

Doc and Clara's anniversary ~ November 30, 1985

Jules' birth ~ August 12, 1986

Verne's birth ~ May 31, 1988

Haven's birth ~ possibly November 12, 1995

Basically, these events would all occur exactly 100 years later from the Trilogy/Haven Universes.

Also, in the Newlyweds Universe, I'm thinking of having Doc and Clara adopt a girl from the future. This story will probably end up as a summer project. Any ideas for this story would be welcome.

That would leave us with the Twin Pines Universe, Lone Pine Universe, Twins Universe, and Parker Universe. I'm thinking of giving Doc and Jessica twins in all the universes - quite naturally, named Jules and Verne. During the events of A Ticket to the Movies, Jessica finds out about her pregnancy. It would probably be the same in the other universes.

In the Twin Pines Universe, I'll probably have Marty Jr be born to Marty and Julia on the same date as the other universes. Vincent and Jennifer will probably have a kid around that time, too.

Of course, there's the Almanac Universe. I'm thinking of doing a double wedding - where Doc and Clara marry on the same date as Chris and Jessica, which would probably be the same date as in the non-Trilogy/Haven Universes. Chris and Jessica will probably end up with twins, and I'm thinking Doc and Clara should have their first child on the same date. There would be the whole issue of names, though.

I'm probably not even going to expand on the Father and Calvin Universes.

needles1987 - March 25, 2008 05:33 AM (GMT)
So Marty and Julia are only going to have Marty Jr?

I guess Doc and Clara are obviously going to have Jules and Verne in Almanac. Maybe Emily and Martina for Chris and Jessica?

bttf44 - March 25, 2008 06:37 AM (GMT)
Emily and Martina sound awesome! That's a good idea, in fact.

I just asked my friend about the kids Julia would be having with Marty, and she wanted twins. Marty Jr's twin might end up being George.

needles1987 - March 26, 2008 03:31 AM (GMT)
Did she say she wanted two boys?

bttf44 - March 26, 2008 03:42 AM (GMT)
Right, that's what she said. She also wanted George for the other boy. :)

needles1987 - March 26, 2008 06:07 AM (GMT)
I'm guessing Marty Jr is the older twin?

bttf44 - March 26, 2008 07:32 AM (GMT)
I haven't really thought about it, but maybe so. I'll ask her if she has a preference.

Unless she states otherwise, I might make George similar in personality to Alex of the Twins Universe. I would probably ship the twins with Stephanie and Stacy Stebbs.

As for the Almanac Universe, I'm thinking of pairing Stacy up with Alex - who, I'm thinking, would be similar to Alex of the Twins Universe. I thought of hooking Mike up with Clara Parker, but I'm starting to reconsider the idea. Of course, I could hook him up with Marlene's friend (Lila ) - but, well, do you have any other ideas?

I'm already doing the time-bender thing with Verne Brown and Linda McFly (William McFly's younger sister, that is) - and I don't want to overuse the idea. This will definitely occur in the Trilogy Universe, and I'm not as sure about the Haven Universe. My story would definitely be more slanted towards the Trilogy Universe - since I'm also planning to have Marty re-visit the era, and reprise his "Michael J Fox" persona.

As for the adoption story in the Newlyweds Universe, I'm thinking that Doc and Marty go into the future by twenty years. Marty Jr isn't quite ten, yet - and he has a troubled friend. The girl is miss her loving mother, who passed away - and she has to endure abuse from her father. I'm not quite sure how I would do this, but she somehow manages to stow away to 1987 - and, feeling abandoned, she ventures off into town. Later on, Doc finds her - and, in the end, Doc and Clara decide to adopt her.

Possible idea: The DeLorean wouldn't really work. So, maybe the DeLorean is out of commission - so Doc and Marty use the station wagon to enter the future. The girl hides way in the back, burrowed under a blanket. So Doc and Marty, unwittingly, bring her back to 1987 - not realizing that she's hiding there. She's also asleep.

Other ideas: She lives in Hilldale, and she meets the Ungers at Hill Valley Park.

I have to think of what role she might play in all the other universes, as she wouldn't be adopted by Doc in any of the other universes.

bttf44 - March 27, 2008 02:55 AM (GMT)
A couple of questions:

1. Should I make the twins Jules and Verne be similar in personality to their Trilogy Universe counterparts? Jules is the more serious and intellectual twin, while Verne is the more laid-back and fun-loving twin?

2. For Emily and Martina of the Almanac Universe, should I make them similar in personality to their male counterparts?

On a side note, the twins Jules and Verne would probably resemble Trilogy Universe Verne - as both Doc and Jessica have blond hair.

needles1987 - March 27, 2008 10:49 PM (GMT)
I would say yes to both questions. What would Emily and Martina look like?

bttf44 - March 27, 2008 10:51 PM (GMT)
They would probably look like Jessica. I guess Emily would be a little closer to Jules, while Martina would have more in common with Verne.

needles1987 - March 27, 2008 11:07 PM (GMT)
So they're going to have blonde hair. What's Jessica's eye color? Did you ever say?

bttf44 - March 28, 2008 01:44 AM (GMT)
Yeah, Jessica has blue eyes. I was uncertain of whether I should have the girls in the Almanac Universe resemble Jessica, or look like female versions of Verne. Seeing as both Doc and Clara have brown eyes, I was a little surprised that Verne had blue eyes - even though it can be possible.

Somewhere along the way, may not be for a few years, I might have to do some more dimensional-hopping stories. One to do a comparison of Doc's kids, and one to do a comparison of Marty's (and any twins he has) kids.

In all the other universes - other than the Trilogy and Haven Universes - Doc would most likely plan to not inform the kids about the time machine, until he feels that they're old enough to be trusted with that information..

needles1987 - March 28, 2008 04:48 AM (GMT)
Are they going to have Jessica's blue eyes, Chris' gray eyes, or blue-gray eyes?

bttf44 - March 28, 2008 05:02 AM (GMT)
Hmm, blue-grey eyes? I think that's what Michael J Fox has - although, I usually call it slate-blue. They would probably have Jessica's blue eyes. I haven't thought of just how blue they are. They probably won't be turquoise, though - as the eyes Harmony has.

needles1987 - March 28, 2008 07:27 PM (GMT)
And I'm guessing they will both have curly hair?

bttf44 - March 28, 2008 08:19 PM (GMT)
Probably, yeah.

Okay, some plot lines for future stories.

Blast From the Future

Doc and Marty take a trip to twenty years in the future, as Doc needs to pick up computer parts. Marty heads over to Lou's Coffee Shoppe and Internet Cafe, where he sees young Marty Jr - with a female friend. The two chat it up with Marty, who would introduce himself as Alex PJ Fox.

Somewhere along the way, they pass Doc's station wagon - as the DeLorean is temporarily out-of-commission. The girl mentions that her mother had a car like that, before she died. She then tells Marty about how she's forced to live with her abusive father, who is bent-set on making her life miserable. Marty is sad, and wishes he could help her out. He suggests that Marty Jr talks to his older self about her.

Marty then heads back to OfficeMAX, where he meets Doc. The two prepare to head back home. Neither realize that the girl is in the back of the station wagon, fast asleep - so they, unwittingly, bring her back to 1987.

After the girl wakes up, she wanders around Hill Valley - and she wonders why the place looks so unfamiliar to her. A friendly cab driver offers her a ride to Hill Valley Park. Once there, she meets the four "good" Ungers. At some point, they ask her if she knows the day and the year. When she says it's 2007 - they correct her, and tell her that it's 1987. The girl is so confused.

Marty and Jennifer decide to take a walk at Hill Valley Park - and, once there, they spot the girl. They bring her back to Doc's place, and Doc is shocked that they had managed to bring her back in time. After some time, Doc and Clara finally decide to adopt the girl.

Girl of My Old Home

This one, I don't have fleshed out as much. Here's what I'm tentatively thinking of, though. Verne, from 1997, end up going back to 1987 - exactly what for, I haven't yet figured out. Verne and Marty then end up taking a trip back to 1905.

Once there, Marty McFly reprises his "Michael J Fox" persona - while Verne Brown is still just Verne Brown. Remember, Verne spent the first five years of his life in the 19th Century - and he would be 17 in 1905, if his family had stayed in the past. An old friend - Linda McFly, the younger sister of William - is very pleased to see Verne. The two of them end up falling in love, as Verne and Marty spend a week at with William and Annette - who is pregnant with Alice.

Eventually, Verne confides to Linda his secret - while he decides to bring her back to 1997 with him.

bttf44 - March 29, 2008 07:59 AM (GMT)
Doc's Greatest Hero

This fic will likely have six chapters. The first four chapters will probably take place around the airing of the Family Ties' episode, Philadelphia Story. Basically, Doc is feeling discouraged about something - and it's up to Marty to help Doc gain the confidence. Doc falls asleep, and he dreams of meeting Benjamin Franklin of July 3 of 1776. The last two chapters will have Marty and Alex meeting at the signing, while both will be revisiting the dream about 20 months later.

Philadelphia Story was aired on January 17 of 1985.

bttf44 - March 29, 2008 08:15 PM (GMT)
Unless Phish Tacko suggests another name for the girl, I'm thinking of naming her Melissa. Either way, though, I'm thinking of giving her "Paradise" for a last name. It happened to be her mother's last name, and she's upset that her father wants to take it away from her. After the adoption, she becomes Melissa Paradise Brown. She was born in 1998, just like Marty Jr.

Of course, we have to think of issues to consider - the obvious one is accidentally causing herself to not be born. As she gets older, she might be tempted to to visit her mother - and warn her mother about her father. She would have good intentions, but it could result in a massive time paradox.

needles1987 - March 29, 2008 09:42 PM (GMT)
Sounds good. Paradise, huh? Isn't that Jennifer's mother's maiden name?

bttf44 - March 29, 2008 10:17 PM (GMT)
Oh, I forgot about that. I should maybe pick a different one. It should be a name that sounds very pretty, though.

bttf44 - March 30, 2008 07:23 AM (GMT)
I don't think I used Haven as a last name, for anyone in the BTTF Universe. Either Heather Haven or Melissa Haven or the girl to be adopted.

Also, here are the full names of the Quagmire triplets:
Duncan Lawrence Quagmire
Quigley Webster Quagmire
Isadora Rosalee Quagmire
