Title: Did Mjf Ever Use The Word "harmony"?
Description: I feel embarrassed asking this, but...

I've posted this question on a few Family Ties boards, in regards to whether or not Alex P Keaton ever used that word on Family Ties. I haven't received any reply, yet - and I do feel a little embarrassed about asking this. It's just that "harmony" happens to be my favourite word - so I'm just curious. I tried searching Google, but I'm just not finding anything real useful.

I know Mallory used that word twice in the Thanksgiving episode, when she argued that her parents were being stubborn for their cause because Thanksgiving is supposed to be about "peace and harmony in the family". Then Elyse also used the word in a flashback scene to Alex's birth in Africa.

Considering what I've heard about the episode where Alex manages Jennifer's band - which doesn't come until Season Five - it almost seems like Alex would have to use the word "harmony" in that episode, as it's my understanding that he wants Jennifer's band to be singing old songs three-part harmony style (a la The Andrews Sisters).

Anyway, I'm just asking out of curiosity.

I honestly do not know. Is that where the name Harmony came from for being Marty Jr's girlfriend?

I remember that episode where Alex takes over Jennifer's band. He made them wear prom dresses and sing Mr. Sandman and had Skippy be the sandman. Funnily enough, The Andrews Sisters never did a version of Mr. Sandman. I remember when Steve jokingly referred to them as the Andrews Sisters.

I have to admit that that is where the name of Doc's granddaughter and Marty Jr's girlfriend comes from. Well, as I said before, I feel a little embarrassed about asking - but that's just a curiosity of mine. So I guess you don't remember if the word "harmony" was ever used in that episode?

Yes, finally! :)

Andy: What's going on? What are they fighting about?

Alex: Well, Andy, what we're dealing with here is a very complex male/female issue.

Andy: I know that much, Alex.

Alex: You see, in the beginning, all was well. There was harmony. There was balance. You know? Man was the hunter, the provider, and the protector - and women stayed at home, you know... and took care of the babies... and cooked and cleaned... and got an occassional facial. *pinches Mallory's cheek*

Jennifer: Here it comes, the latest installment of The World According to Alex P Keaton.

Mallory: I thought we cancelled our subscription.

Jennifer: It just keep coming, anyway.

Mallory: All right, it's time to tickle the soles of Alex's feet!

Just kidding! I made that last line up! :)
