Title: Sometimes I Wish I Was A Kid Again

I was watching my four year old sister the other day and I thought to myself, "She has no idea how easy she has it." Kids don't have any cares, worries, responsibilities, etc. Sure, adults get freedom, but freedom comes with a price. I sometimes wish I was a kid again, back to those carefree days where you have no idea where the food, the house, the car, and other stuff come from. Back when all we had to worry about is staying out of trouble with our parents. I think I may have took my life for granted back then. It's not fair that I wasn't able to appreciate my childhood until it was over. Does anybody else feel that way? :(

Gee, as soon as I saw the thread title, I thought that it was a post I made but forgot all about! I completely agree with you! I do miss the carefree days of childhood. Of all the years Marty has visited so far, 1975 is probably the hardest - because he has to see his younger self from that year. I'm sure it's also sometimes hard for Marty to raise a son who looks like him, and watch him in all the various stages of life. Calvin (Hell Valley Marty) in the Almanac Universe really struggles with the fact that he didn't have a "real" family, as he was growing up. Also, Normal!Marty really struggles with the fact that he's reaching adulthood. It's in Virtual Reality that Marty finally makes plans to leave the house.

Say, what if you could go back in time to when you were kid? I don't mean just going back in time, as Marty did in That '70s Story - but I mean actually BECOMING your younger self. How far back would you go?

What kind of music did you listen to, as a kid? I have to say that Simon and Garfunkel reminds me of my childhood. Maybe I should turn on my lava lamp tonight. I haven't done that in a little while.

I'd like to go back to any age before my teen years, preferably in the single digits. I just listened to the same music my parents listened to back in the 90s, like Nirvana, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Presidents of the United States of America, etc. I also listened to Queen.

It's like I always knew that one day, I would be out on my own. But I also thought it was going to take an eternity to grow up. I've been an adult for two years, and right now, I'm scared shitless about my future.

A lot of the music from the '70s and the '80s remind me of my childhood. As a kid, you tend to think that grown-ups can do whatever they want to do all the time - but that isn't always the case. If you have a job, then you have a schedule that you have to keep.

Just this morning, I cried while thinking about never getting my childhood back.

Awww! ((hugs))

I wonder if I'm maybe burning myself out a little bit. I'd like to try to get one chapter done daily, as possible. It's rustrasting that the login thing at FFN isn't working.

Anyway, I have four different lava lamps. They're fun to watch! :)

My childhood wasn't entirely great, but I would like to relive it just so I can fix it. I had very few friends as a kid. I was constantly ridiculed. But at the same time, I don't think I could've prevented the ridicule as some kids were just plain mean. I do miss having the innocence of a child.

Yeah, I was in a pretty abusive foster home though some of my childhood - but what I feel very nostalgic about is spending time with my mother and grandma. I didn't have very many friends as a kid, either. I did have a best friend, and I had a few other fairly good friends. My mother never let me bring them over to my house, though - and I never realized how odd it was to have friends you don't hang out with outside of school. Unless it's more common than I thought it was.

Why didn't your mom ever allow you to have friends over? Did she not like them?

When I was a teenager, I wasn't allowed to bring friends over simply because my step-mom didn't like them. I had weird friends. But I was probably even weirder than them.

She was mostly too embarrassed about her living situation to let me invite anyone over.
