Title: I Love The Trilogy, But...
Description: Things we wish were different

Okay, I think even though we all love the trilogy - we can all find things about the trilogy that we wish were different. What are some of them for you?
The major biggie for me, and apparently quite a few others, is the way the trilogy ended. I wish Clara and Doc had arrived in 1985 with Marty, in the DeLorean. Who else here feels that way?
A few other things I wish were different. I wish Claudia Wells and Crispin Glover could have come back for the sequels - and I wish Michael J Fox still looked as youthful as he did in the first movie. Of course, those things couldn't be helped, though.
The other thing is, I wish Doc had warned Marty about the race with Needles that would have ruined his future. After all, it's not like Doc knew that they would end up in 1885 - and that Marty would learn his lesson from his duel with Buford. I was kind of angry at Doc for refusing to tell Marty what happened to him in the future in Part Three. Of course, I guess the movie reason for not having Doc warn Marty about the race with Needles - is because when they added that scene to Part One, they had no plans for a sequel at the time. After all, Doc did tell Marty and Jennifer that they turned out fine in the future - that it was their kids that were in trouble. One thing they should have kept from an earlier script of Part Two, was that Marty had a problem with wanting to be rich, instead of being called a chicken. It still would have worked for the series.
Oh, well, I still enjoy the series - and they will always remain my favourite.

I wish Claudia and Crispin returned as well. I do sorta wish they went to the sixties instead of back to the fifties, but what they ended up with was fine.

Marty did seem a little too serious in the sequels. I prefer the final result portrayal of 2015 and 1985A, but it would've been nice to have them going back to the '60s. On the other hand, though, it was nice to see that important day from a different perspective.
Do you think the series should've ended a little differently. It also seemed like Doc just came to say "good bye" to Marty, and that he was planning to stay in the Old West. Both The Animated Series and The Ride do feature Doc moving back to the present, though. BTW, it would be so nice to have both of things on DVD. So it's not just fanon that Doc moves his family to the present, but it does come from a less official source.

I wish they hadn't created Clara at all, or turned Doc into a family man. Why can't anyone be portrayed as single and happy, like ever?

I have mixed feelings on that, actually. I'm not one of these people who hate Clara, and it is nice to see that Doc has acheived his desire to have a wife and kids. On the other hand, though, Clara does kind of destrop the dynamic relationship with Doc and Marty - and Doc seems to have lost some of his zaniness. Anyway, yeah, even if Doc did move his family back to 1985 - the relationship between Doc and Marty wouldn't be the same.
