My favorite is also Calvin Klein.

I gotta go with Calvin! :) I even gave Marty an identical twin brother named Calvin, in one of my AU series.
McFly2007 - May 12, 2007 01:47 PM (GMT)
Clint Eastwood cos nobody else voted for it

I went with Clint Eastwood. I just like the name Clint better than Calvin. :seamus: :buford: :clara: :marshall:
You also forgot:
Marty Lewis (from original BTTF script)
Marty Delorean (from original BTTF2 script)

The ironic thing is, I don't think Huey Lewis was even that well-known - when the first script was written. I figured it would only be fitting for Marty to use the "Huey Lewis" alias in 1925 for a BTTF4 fanfic story. When he visits teenage Doc in the year 1938, he uses the alias "Michael Lewis". In the Parker Universe Trilogy, Marty also uses the name "Huey Lewis" in 1955 - while Jennifer uses the name "Pat Benatar". Because Jennifer was with Marty in 1955, Lorraine never tried to take off Marty's pants or go hitting on him. She's not bad enough to hit on somebody else's boyfriend.

In the original BTTF script, Professor (Doc) told Eileen's (Lorraine) family that Marty was his nephew, Lewis. Then Marty said "Marty." Then Doc said "Marty Lewis."

Wow! It's interesting that the Professor (Doc) was the one to come up with that idea in the first script. I guess the Bobs weren't even thinking of Huey Lewis. I just remembered something. In I'm My Own Father (probably the most controversial story that I wrote), twins Marty and Artie introduce themselves as Huey and Lewis Klein.
BTW, I am so glad that the first script was never used! It would be scary to return to a world that is very unfamiliar to you, and where rock and roll has never even been invented. Also, Marty did seem like a bit of a jerk in that story. As Michael J Fox was still a struggling actor at the time, I'm sure the Bobs didn't yet envision him as Marty.

The original Marty was Eric Stoltz. As much as I like Eric Stoltz, I'm glad MJF got the part of Marty.

Just to clarify, the "Bobs" have said that their first choice to play Marty was Michael J. Fox. When they couldn't get him because of his role on Family Ties they decided to try and cast somebody else and they eventually chose Eric Stoltz. After filming about a third of the movie they realized that he wasn't right for the part and this time NBC let Michael J. Fox film Back to the Future.

Somehow, I don't think Eric Stoltz would fit in too well with the rest of the family. Lea Thompson has the same hair colour as Michael J Fox.

I forgot all about the fact that Doc also used the name Huey Lewis in A Tale of Martin McFly. I wrote that story long before I wrote Back to the Future Part IV.

In my newest story, Marty will be going under the persona of John Wayne Eastwood.
bttf44 - October 18, 2007 05:24 AM (GMT)
Whoa, sounds like a good idea! It's even better than Rhett Eastwood! I don't remember exactly why I picked Rhett. I guess I thought just sounded good with Clint! :)
I'll start a new topic in the Fan Creations forum, and list all the names I've had Marty use.

It may interest you to know that "Calvin Klein" was not the only name that was used as Marty's 1955 name (which everyone knows was given to him by his mom seeing the brand name on his underwear). In the French version, the name "Mark Cardin" was given, and in Italy, the name "Levi Strauss" was used. These names were used because audiences were far more likely to recognize those brands than "Calvin Klein."
So, technically, if you throw those names in the mix, I think that Levi Strauss would be my favorite...even in the 80's.
