Breakfast; as they say, it’s the most important meal of the day. It is the time where a normal human being gets all the nutrition and nourishment they need to kick start a brand new day. Having a job as a critic, Adeline had to find at least a decent place which provides qualities of food that are above average to rest her taste buds into. The time she left the house was around ten thirty in the morning – a high probability that it’s too late to have breakfast. Therefore, if Adeline occasionally meets into a situation like this, she would call her first meal of the day as ‘branch’. ‘Branch’ is the combination of breakfast and lunch. This only happen when the time she takes her breakfast is a little too late and for lunch, a little too early. Turning down the corner, Adeline had only one place in mind to have her little ‘branch’ and it’s none other than the Rick’s Deli. She heard from many of her colleagues that the place consists of amazing sandwiches. Therefore, she decided to give the place a try.

Wearing the usual casual outfit, Adeline stepped into the shop and took a seat by the corner. Through sitting at the corner, Adeline managed to scan across the room easily thus, occupies her time as she waits for the waiter to come along with the menu. There were quite a number of people bustling in and out of the store and consequently proving that her colleague was right. For those many workaholics, they tend to enter the shop and throw in their order before paying the cashier and off they stroll out. Smirking, Adeline knew she needs not to be as busy as them. Her job was simple and easy, plus ideas come to her at anytime she wishes. Being a critic seems to be quite an easy job for Adeline, seeing that she is quite the irritating perfectionist. Being a perfectionist didn’t seem to be much of a pro in Adeline’s point of view, mainly is because they were time consuming.

Her thoughts were being cut off as she spotted a waitress brisk across the room and walked up to her table, handing the menu. Her breath was loud and her hair was in quite a frizz, clearly showing that business here is doing real good. After giving a glance at the menu, Adeline tilted her head up and to see the impatient woman standing before her. “I’ll have the breakfast set with a cup of cappuccino.” Writing it down hurriedly, the waitress then nodded her head and grabbed back the menu. Before she turns around, she shot Adeline a forced smile and shot off immediately to the counter. Rolling her eyes, Adeline should be the one best to know that there were not many genuine people around these days.

Ian had been getting out of the apartment building more and more lately, unable to stick around after what happened with the girl. He just couldn't stand being there, he needed to escape. It had gotten so bad that he would wake up in the morning and he would be mad, for no reason at all. Nothing would be wrong, he would just wake up with a grimace on his face and it would quickly turn into a scowl, and that was the way it would stay if he remained in the building much longer. He would wake up, make sure everything was in order and just walk out of the building. It could survive without him, and if it suddenly burned to the ground while he was away...well, one less headache to worry about.

As Ian walked past the delis and other assorted shops, he suddenly realized that he hadn't eaten more than three times in the past week. He didn't even notice. He still wasn't hungry, but he figured he should probably get something anyway, not good to go this long without nourishment. Wouldn't be a good thing if he passed out mid sentense because he hadn't eaten a damn thing and his body ran out of fuel to run off of.

He walked into the first deli that he could see that looked decent, He sat down next to some blonde girl, completely ignoring everyone. He looked like hell, felt like hell, practically collapsing into the chair and leaning onto the table. He looked at the menu as the waitress walked over to him. He didn't think he could stomach any food right now, so he just ordered a coffee, thinking that his appetite might magically reappear before he left...probably not.
