Title: betta critique standards

Hey everyone!!

As this is the place to have your bettas "judged" by other members, we need to all use a common rating system. I borrowed this standard from the betty splendens website.
http://www.bettysplendens.com/articles/pag...?articleid=1320

When you post a picture of your betta in this folder, these are the standards that you should expect it to be judged by. If you just want to show off your beautiful fishy, post the picture in the betta gallery.

Judging is done on a scaling system, and points are given as follows:

- General impression - Maximum 25 points
- Caudal fin - Maximum 20 points
- Dorsal fin: Maximum 10 points
- Anal fin: Maximum 10 points
- Ventral fins: Maximum 10 points
- Color: Maximum 25 points

Total score: 100 points maximum

In shows, these standards are applied to crowntail, doubletail, plakat and delta/superdelta/halfmoons. There are currently no judging standards for veiltails (at least here in the US) so unfortunately, VT's cannot be critiqued according to this standard.

Please remember that this is a critique, so you may hear things about your fish that you might not want to hear. So, if you don't think you are ready for that, use the betta gallery to post.

Can't wait to see all of your beautiful fishies!!!

is it just me, but I could not get the hyperlink to work in your post. To bad I was really interested in reading it even though I do not show.

I have to get the whole true IBC standard, and see what we can do with that.
I think we all need to develop "THE EYE", all of us have Oh PRETTY fish symdrom, and I Want itis.

Hi!
I have one question regarding this system - how many points are taken away for what kind of fault? Is this handled like in the IBC-Standard? or just by "feeling"?
Thank you
Ursula

I think she might have taken the page down because it was copied from the IBC standards and I don't think she had permission to do it... Which is why I had to take it down. Sorry.
