Just got what I think is a crowntail veiltail mix given to me on Friday. He is gorgeous. He must have some crown tail in him cause his taill has a couple of spikes on the end.i may have to wait to be sure to tell what kind he is cause the spikes I saw growing in spots are more and in some areas his caudal and dorsal fins are growing back in and filling out. I will have to wait till he is done healing to tell what he is. Poor thing must have had a bad case of fin rot before I got him.I have been keeping his water pristine and using bettafix for about a month now and his finnage is growing back
Yeah! Sorry I don't have a pic of him yet. He has a black head down to his pelvic fins and then is dark blue . I named him "Zeke" Short for Ezekiel.

Yup I am begininng to get really attached to him. He is quite the eating machine . I love his personality. The lady I got him from said he was 3 years old. He is on my nightstand in his filtered, lighted one gallon tank , spoiled little boy that he is.

He is my only betta. I do not have access to a digital Camera or else I would let you all see him. I tried taking photos with a regular 35 mm I have but hey all came out blurry. :LOL:

I wish I did have one though cause I would love to post a pic of him. He has started building bubble nests. I have had him for little over a month or so and have never seen him blow one. I figured it was because he was and elderly betta. He started doing it Sunday and did one again on yesterday. His hold up. I destroyed the the first one yesterday before I left for work fishing some uneaten food out with net, and when I got home he had built another one. He is funny. I can take my finger and lightly rub the outside of the tank where the bubblenest is and he starts defending it, flaring and going on the defense. He must think he has babies in there. I must have been a breeder fish before I got him

Don't worry you'll get a Camera,it is the giving time of year so hopefully you'll get one or enough money for one.
You could always take a picture and scan it into the computer.
That's what I use to do.

I have 35mm camera with flash that I tried using to take pics of another fish but they came out blurry. Maybe I need to hone my picture taking skills more.

I unfortunately do not have pics.She is a traditional ( with the black head )and blue body. She has a round tail and I counted at least 4 spines. So I do not think she is a veil tail .I am thinking she is a round tail.She has quite the personality. I think her scrape showed up cause of her black head. If her head was not black I probably would not have seen it. I got her from a lfs. From a local petco.This particular one ( not the rest in my area ) get some really pretty colored females. I saw a doubletail at Walmart but did not get it and when I went back it was gone.

yup i am not good at telling types unless it is real obvious like veil tail , crown tail, plakat , half moon , rose tail etc. She does have four of the branches mentioned in one of the posts. Her tail is not as round as a half moon though

I heard that if you add B12 to the water when a betta has either blown it's tail or what not, and you are trying to get it to grow back, that it helps alot. May never be what it was origonally, but it will help improve.

I'm in the process of, but I'm working on a "slide show" to explain how to take piccys of fishies and have them come out better.
