A little history: I had a $50 credit with a Thai breeder, and it's been burning a hole in my pocket. I kind of wanted to wait to see if they were going to post 100% giants for auction, but I have never seen anything better than 1/2 giants from this breeder.

So, I have a copper HM female that I have tried to spawn once, but I screwed up the spawn, and now my daughter has killed the melano PK male that I had bred her with. I figured that I need to get on with my breeding, etc. So, I figured that I really do like the coppers (it's a close favorite of mine with red dragons and blue masks), and I really like the blue masks. I have a female blue mask PK as well.

I've been waiting about 2 months for the seller to post some bettas that I really like and can work with. So...these are the two that I won yesterday morning:

I'm telling ya, I was forced into bidding! You see, there was this strange image that came onto the monitor, and it hypnotized me into placing THREE bids!!! It was unbelievable!!!! LOL

The first 2 were only $17 EACH, and the third one was $20! So, I'll only have to pay $4 for the bettas, plus $5 each to get them out of Thailand and into the States. That only $19!!!!!! I'm excited NOW, but when it comes time to pay the transshipper...ack!!!!! I'll be hating life!!! LOL

like you yeev, it'll be a loooooooooooooong time before I can get any more bettas from aquabid (notice I only said "bettas"lol). If I can find a REALLY AWESOME 100% giant and starve my family for a week, then MAYBE! LOL I may just have to get me some imbellis and make my own giants! LOL

It is never the cost of the fish alone, the transhipping costs are the killers.
For example, Sec Rev, the brother to Revo (Forever Flare) only cost 25 dollars, because he was chewed from the spawning tank, but the shipping was 35 for the one fish.
If I could have afford it, I would have bought more fish, just to offset the cost of the shipping.
60 bucks for one fish is crazy, but what can I say???
