lol anyway, he arrived a little stressed, but ate after only an hourand a few hours later is flairing like a mad betta ^_^

He is living in a divided 5 gallon half for him, and half for my aqua male CT who was actualy more stressed after being moved from a comfy bare botom one gallon on the shelf,, but after he tried to eat everything he saw, i finally threw him some pellets and he seemed happy, about 3 hours later, they were flairing at eachother all over the place, trying to figure out what the force field between them is lol *is glass..you can see the confusion lol*

I dont have any flairing pics, but i do have a handfull from about a half hour after he arrived.

after looking at him for a ling tim, it looks like the 2 sides on the anal fin may form together along with the tail, making an oppisit of what I have seen before...try to picture it lol, a flat anal fin, with the tail growing down the middle, one fin growing from 3 spots..very interesting ^_^

That is amazing, I have never seen anything like that before in my life.
I am trying to figure out what could have cause that.. a mutaion? co joined unformed?? Forget what that is called.
I don't see that it would be something to do with the DT gene...
Could it be the same mishap that forms sometimes a triple vented fish??
Are you planning on breeding him?

I dont mind, and yea, I do plan on breeding him, I have the girl nd him being conditioned, he builds great nests about everyother day, buthen destroys them..that worries me, but I will give them a go :)

I'm looking at his tail, and he looks like a VT.. Inbreeding isn't too muchof an issue with VTs, though I suppose it could happen.
If you are trying to recreate that double anal, you may have to do some intense inbreeding. Not just spawn mates, but you may want to try to take him to one of his daughters.
You may also want to try breeding him to one of his grandaughters from the spawn sibling breeding.
One way to hurry up and get fry to breeding size is to put a few fry in a 10 or 20 to themselves and feed them 3-4 times a day, and partial water changes every day.. I know that isn't feasible for most people, but I thought I would put the idea out there.
When you hav to jar them, keep the ones that look the most interesting in a larger water space, no less than a gallon, and water hange every day, again, feeding up to 4 times a day.
That way if you are going to take a daughter to him, you have a better chance of getting it done before he gets too old to get it done.

actually my fry get fed several times a day, sometimes 4 or more, I loose track sometimes lol..and they also get often WC the most time between WC is about a week, but whenever I see stuff on the bottom, they get a cleaning anyway ^_^

This Double Anal fin must run in the VT line because i just ran up and saw that my Vt has one to! How odd is that? I had to go back and check because he alwasy seems to clamp them together.....

Well, yesterday Razz hit the breeding tank, his bubblenest tops ALL my other bettas in the istory of the breeding nests lol, and he is still hard at work, i think its because he's a VT..but the girl has breeding stripes, but i'm not going to be here for a few hours, so hopefully he has the nest compleleted enough to release her tonight, she isnt too eggy, thats why I chose her for him..So he doesnt get overwhelmed in his first try :)

well, I havent checked on them in a few hours, so they may be spawning right now :OO hes real gental, so I trust him not to hurt her, no VT I ever had was a gerk..ok, well threr was one, who was my fav, but I dident realize they had bred *my first spawn actaully* and ended up moving his styrofoam cup and nest into his tank because it was a good nest, but I was so mad at him i never checked..I lost all the eggs, but he tried very hard, i actaully moved the nest about 15 minuets after i moved him, and he still attempted to care for the nest...I miss him -_-

thats what I'm hopeing to get, but I would have to wait untill F2..but I'm patient..but hes being a...well incert any insult lol, he popped his nest and was just being stupid, so I removed the girls from all the breeding tank, and am going to do a major WC on the 10 gallon breeder..and hopefully that will fix it <_<

yup I would like to breed my two, but all Ginseng seems interested in is how to flare and get mad at her. He must just not be ready yet

I have never bred bettas . Is that what he is doing when he is flaring at her? I figured as much . Just did not want to take the rish of putting her in there if he was not ready cause I know he would then tear her up
