You can add some thing floating in their tanks, I use floating Java Ferns.

IAL should help out alot! I had some young PKs that wouldn't bubblenest EVER! But once I floated a IAL in their tanks, the nest day, there's a nice sized nest there.

Some males doen't start to build the nest until they are actually wrapping. Believe me when he does breed, he will build the nest for the eggs.
Sometimes a sheet of bubble wrap will help, and the females go crazy ove it, it's like they say WOW LOOKIT THEM BUBBLES!!!!

I got another male to start him a bubble nest and he took to it really well. I now have eggs in the nest lol. I got some Betta SPA from a friend and added that to the water aswell.
My other female who I was also going to breed to the same male dropped all of her eggs in her bowl last night. :o
But atleast I got him to spawn with the other girl and the eggs should be hatching today!

p.s. its a HM copper spawn!

my male did a similar thing, only he never built a nest at all, untill i added like 6 bettas worth of nest, but it slowly all popped, I have a special nest anchore, that once the "pin" is pulled, it flattens out with a space in the middle, it incourages the male to build a nest under it, the fry can stick to it nest or not, and it saves any eggs/fry that get pushed up too far into the nest to drop into the water, because of the design, i got 2 fry from that spawn, insted of none..

its realy easy to make, take 2 equal sized thin styrofoam rectangles *about 1.5inx3in* and then tape them together while making a long triangle *not tall* and then make sure when they are pulled apart, they make a raft, then put them back in the triangle position, and pin them together, I used a pin from a sewing machine, when you feel its time, pull the pin, and it will turn into a raft ^_^

I saw a article somewhere about making an artificial bubble nest. I will have to do some more digging to find it for you.
