So, here's to my first real post! *cheers*

Today I received my mahachai pair that I have been eagerly awaiting. I love them. Can't get enough of them. Wild types just drive me crazy with their sleek look. I put off, and put off, and put off getting a pair for almost two years now but finally did.So they're settling in great. I love how my boy just seems to flow around without twitching his tail. Even better is how he sits there like a little tripod. Is it a mahachai thing? I've never seen any bettas I've owned do it so of course I'm squealing over the wonder of it all :P They're doing great. The female is a tad shy but my male is already a bundle of JOY. He is darting around his little container, tripoding left and right...and then he noticed Viper.

Quick backstory, Viper is one of my monster super delta females. Her brother Galactica and her sister Pegasus were bred by myself. She's gorgeous, being a really even light red over her body. She's also bigger than her brother, as is her sister by almost half a body size. She and her sister are huge. They dwarf my poor rescued VT female Betty. And all this means is that she is well double the size of my maha male.

But that isn't stopping him! He's already flirting with her, making googley eyes, and I swear his color has improved in just the last two hours of him being home. He already looks far darker and more stunning. He's completely ignoring his girlfriend in the tank next to him. While she's forlornly watching him through her tank, he's busy trying to show off to Viper. Viper, however, reminds me of a not-so-happy shark. Her back is arched, she's flared up, and presents herself to him as big and tough. She did a number on Galactica's fins back when they were bred. Poor guy. He's still staring moon-eyed at her XD I love how some males just can't take a hint.
