Title: Eviction Day

LaBella - April 28, 2008 05:36 AM (GMT)
I have a spawn of fish swimming around in my 20 long. There aren't many, only 6, 5 from one spawn, Manny/Tempest, and one that is from Jill's Magenta and my Mauvelous.
Well, while I am in the mood for it, I decided, hey, I have almost enough sterilized beanies, let me jar them up...
So, I start numbering the beanies, and of course to do that, I had to go in my records, and give them their individual numbers.
And that is when I realized something...
These fish, the Manny babies at any rate, were spawned in JULY!! These fish are none months old and never did I think about jarring them until now, LMAO!!
I confess, the male has no spread to his tail, for obvious reasons, though the edges are nice and sharp. The largest female is also quite nice, even though she has chunks from her fins. The third one, a red female is also quite nice, but maybe not as nice as the second, which is a blue.
The fourth fish jarred I am naming Greenwich, because I am not sure if it is a male or a female. I am thinking male PK. The half brother/cousin from Manny's brother Jamaica looks to me to be a DTPK, so having a PK in this spawn isn't too much of a surprise.
There is a BUT in the sentence, though. Recall if you will, I put the mahachai in that tank, certain I would be able to tell the difference. Little did I know that that darned Tempest would throw so strongly her unknown genes rather than her documented pedigreed genes. (Evil, conniving wench)
There one scrawny runt still in the tank that I'll retrieve later tonight. I have no idea what it is, only that it is half the size of the others.
It would be a hoot if it was one of the mahachia as well.
Last in the tank will be a lovely PK girl form Seig's lines. I just have to try and find something to breed her to, cause I have nothing.
Once those last two have been evicted, I'll scrub the tank down, and move another batch of fish in there, that themselves are long past time for jarring, lol.
Those ones would be the Jamaica/Tempest and the Persia/Morpheus spawns. Hey, after all this time in a tank, another month or so shouldn't be a bother, lol.

Pictures eventually. You know how I am with that.

As an addendum to Eviction Day. Though most of the fish were fine, the last one I mentioned has had his top jaw ripped off. I feel bad, because obviously, this is something fairly recent.
I am going to see what I can do to help him, since he can't really eat well. I have a couple ideas, but if he is just going to starve to death, I'll euth him, rather than have him suffer more.
Also, there were SEVEN fish in the tank, when I went to get the last, she ran, and I thought I caught her, but I looked, and it was a fish completely unknown to me, but obviously in the family, looking like a mini version of the big blue girl.
