Title: pretty sure its velvet..

Southernbelle - April 17, 2008 03:20 AM (GMT)
Welp.. Today i checked on my ct Voodoo and he looks like he has little dustings all over him. Its like... the fish gods know when finals are approaching.. Therefore.. since the only thing I've done is feed my fishies, and didnt examine them for three days, SOMETHING happens and the fish gods smite my fish.
I reckon i gotta go to the LFS and get some meds. Any suggestions as to what works best?
As of now i just have him in clean water with IAL isolated from my big tank. A bit of salt. It's all i can do for tonight.
Hit me up if anyone has any tricks for beatin this thing

I have to say, I prefer aquari-sol. I have dosed, (over dosed really), and over night have had fish that were ich free.
I had one fish that for the last month was sick, and I could not figger out what was wrong, until I saw him in a good strong light, and saw he was covered with velvet.
I actually took him out the water, and put on drop on each sire of him, and put 3 drops in his beanie, (total of 5 drops, dosage is off the top of my head, 12 drops for a 10 gallon), and say, eff it, it's kill or cure time.
Right now, he is busy courting his girl friend, so I say that is a cure, and he recovered again, almost over night.
I have over dosed with aquari-sol many times, and have never had a problem with the fish getting sick from it.
Plus it doesn't stain your silicon like quick cure does.

mm hm that exactly what happened with Voodoo. He looked pretty bad.. well as bad as you can get in two days of me not checking him out...
The morning after treatment the majority of the velvet was absolutely gone. I was really pleased with its performance.
