Title: melano question

samurai - March 24, 2008 02:22 PM (GMT)
so i heard that melano females are infertile, but does that mean that melano females just can't breed with melano males, but can breed with other color males? i ask because if melano females are infertile, why do ppl still sell melano females. what's the point?

im confused... :P

I'll ATTEMPT this... ;)
Melano females are infertile, so I don't think they can breed at all. But melano "carrier" females of other color traits, which is usually irridescence, can be bred to a melano male. (greens, royals, steels) Thats why you see alot of blue geno melano females and stuff on aquabid; they can keep the melano coloration going.

-This is an excellent website that has a whole schpeel about melanos/black. What i said was really close to what was written. :D
