Ok, most of you have seen the parents of my Chocolate spawn, well, there will be no back crossing to the father :( and if i don't find whats wrong with the female, then there will no breeding back to her either!!

I noticed last night that he was acting off, but I didn't think much of it, but later on this afternoon I looked at him and he looked like he wanted to throw up, his normally bright orange fins were more brown at the base..and his lower half *long way* was also more discolored...So I pulled his out and put him in a betta cup, and floated him in the 1 gallon his mate was in, probably suffering from dropsy *but not sure* well, after about 10-15 minuets, he was gone :(

The female is pine coned from gill plate to the base on her caudle and looks ridicules, she tried eating last night, and I haven't fed her yet today, but I'm beginning to wonder if its just constipation...so tonight she will get peas..

and I also lost my male blue ram, different tank, but had very similar symptoms as the male betta, all of a sudden lethargic, and looses color, then just dies...

Thats really odd. I wish I had some really insightful advice to help with the males' situation but honestly i just am not sure. Concerning the female, if it is dropsy I'd just put a little salt in there with her to help. Again, this is just what i'd do if i were in your situation. I am no pro, so anyone feel free to correct me if i am wrong. I hope this helps some and isn't too "yeah, i thought of that." ^_^ Very sorry for the loss of the daddy.

I didn't think of that, I was just using one of my concoctions, melafix and clove oil extremely diluted in water, its like 1/2 to one drop clove oil to calm them, melafix to do its job, and water so it doesn't kill them

But ya, I've got a little more salt left, and I'll try that

lol.. "and water so it doesn't kill them".... for some reason that just really made chuckle. :D Nevertheless i hope it all turns out ok!!
