I walked into our petsmart last week to get some filter media and low and behold they did not have it there. So i whent and asked a worker and she said they will no longer be stocking that any more. The filters they were stoking were crapy so i desided to wate and check out another stoor. But before we left i desided to have a look at the fish for sale. All the tanks hade been riped out! They used to have a great selecting but now they only have gold fish and bettas! This is outragouse! Any one elces down sizing?


I have now desided to not give pestmart my money and will be geting my fish stuf at big als from now on.

Since Nutro changed their lamb and rice formula and Haley had to go on specialty food, I've had no reason to go to petsmart. Been sticking to the LFS and the organic dog food place for the pups.... so, this is good to know.

I hate when stuff like that happens. I've made it a point over the years to stay as local as I can, meaning, supporting mom and pop shops. They can usually make special orders too :lolo:

Not so far as I have noticed, but you all know my stupid turtle that won't eat?
I finally find something he eats.. They had ONE can, I buy it. Jumped for joy when the nutnik ate, and in a week when it was gone, I went to get more, and they had none.
They were like next week.
So I went to petco, and it was on clearance there, and I snatched the rest of the cans up. Plus Petcos crickets are livelier, and the assistant was flirting with me and gave me like 40 crickets, (for the toad) when I only asked for, (and paid for) 20, lolol.
Though I still love Petsmart, lol.

My Petco just downsized their fish section as well!!!

Well I know that Wal Mart here got rid of their fish after several complaints of mistreatment and poor maintenance of the system. Petcos stock has alsways been depleated and expensive, Although they have gotten in Super Deltas and Halfmoons. I have been told their system is complicated and difficult to cycle. Petsmart is one of the only places I get fish anymore. Most of the LFS' are either going out of business or cost an arm and a leg. Kind of a double edged sword.

My Walmart has been allowed to keep their fish to-date. And I pow-wow with the Fish associates regularly to talk about the different kinds of fish. And if they're bettas are dirty, I talk to the associates who get it taken care of right away. I guess it's good that they care. That's probably why the still have their fish.
