Title: DIY Moving Fluid Bed (Kaldnes K1 Media)

This can be done on any tank/pond for all types of fish. By using a 220L drum or large container. The use of Evolution Aqua's Kaldnes K1 media as the primary filtration media and high air circulation in the water to eliminate ammonia, nitrites and nitrates. Its a method many use, mostly aquacultures, pond and high stocked tanks. Its perfect for all tanks and IMHO is a must.

As many may say "I am a water keeper, we look after the water, and the water will look after our fish".

I havent made the filtration yet, but have seen many aquariums and ponds using this method as a form of filtration.

Im going to implement this method to my 340L tank. So its going to be a 340L tank with over 220L extra for filtration. Just keep in mind that there is no such thing as a TOO BIG filtration.

The Kaldnes K1 media in Austalia is $150/50L bag. I have ordered 3 bags in total. Some may say "your spending $450 of filtration media for a 340L tank? You got to kidding me!" Nope, after seeing this in action, I now recommend this to all fellow aquarists. There is also near no maintance on this DIY unit. Just make sure the cannisters are working and the air pumps are gassing away. Very simple.

I will post photos once the media arrives and while Im setting up soon.
