DownSouthBettas - January 26, 2008 01:04 AM (GMT)
I thought I would share a few pictures of my new addition.
Lily is a 8 month old Lilac Lionhead Rabbit. She is spayed and spoiled rotten.
She is also litter pan trained and lives inside (the fish room or the living room).
She is a very good rabbit, she doesn't bite, scratch or kick. She likes to lick my 2 year old son Alexander..... lol.....
ok here come the pics!...............

Yea, i like the lilac siamese markings better on rabbits than on rats...it looks more natural lol.. I'm kinda nervous around rabbits, so I'm glad to hear this one's nice :)

She's so adorable!
I had an indoor white angora rabbit that was house trained. They're pretty easy to train. Just a few words of advice. Make SURE you don't put off cleaning the litter box! If she has an accident never scold her, but move her droppings to where they belong and make sure to clean the spot with vinegar so she can't smell that she had gone there. Rabbits are prey animals and don't understand scolding. If she has problems with hairballs, which she will, pineapple juice will dissolve the hair in her system. Rabbits are incapable of vomiting. Oh, one more bizarre thing. It might look like at least once a day she's eating her droppings right from her hind end. It's natural. They're not droppings, per say, but actually highly nutritious, for rabbits, and a necessary part of her ability to digest properly.
Sorry. I just had wished someone would have told me some of these things when I had gotten Taffy, my rabbit.
Thanks for sharing the pictures! I've thought about getting a lionhead for a while. There's someone that's a member of the ibc that breeds them. I'd have to look back through posts to find out who. Bad memory.

Thanks for the advice Nutty!
No this rabbit will stay around 3-4 pounds...
I used to be an ARBA member. I had Hollland lops, french lops, mini rex, rex , Giant Angoras and Silver Martens. I was actually well know here in Florida for my French lops and Mini rex's. So Lionheads are alittle new to me. If I had room I would breed and show rabbits again. I miss them. But the bettas are just as good:)
Oh and the largest rabbit I have ever owned is my RBOS Agouti French Lop buck Elgin.... weighed in at 16pounds............ I wonder if I still have that picture?
hahaha I found it now dont laugh guys...... I was the president of my 4-h club in high school........ dont laugh............
