I got a pair of black/copper hmpk and a pair of red hmpk from siamimbellis.com !!! They are acclimating now but as soon as they are settled in I will post pics, they are so awesome !!! :WOW: :lala :Y

Ohhh! What a cute watch dog! Now, my problem would be getting distracted by her, start playing with her and forget to look for the bettas! Then you would catch me, and then we would start talking about your 4 legged baby, then move on to talking about your bettas, then I'd remember why I was there and my cover would be blown! Well, I guess I'd be hopeless! Someone else is going to have to nab them!

By the way, did you get a chance to get them in the spawning tanks?

ok, I definately have copper hmpk eggs, and red hmpk eggs !!! I thought I didn't have copper hmpk eggs because I had taken the female out two days ago and tonight she was dropping eggs by the buckets full and picking them up and putting them in her own nest. So I thought hmmmm .... I'll put her back in and try again, well he immeadately starting trying to lure her to the nest. I found my flashlight to see why she wouldn't go back to the nest and he has so many eggs that they are coming through the bubbles and are on top of the bubbles :OMG: :WOU :Y :WOW: :lala :wiggle

And you guys aren't getting anywhere trying to find out where they live... You need to tell them they have a great uncle in zimbabwe who is heir to a giant fish farm and if they send you their fish, you will remit back to them 2983728 more fish plus a can of attisons. :P

Ok we have red hmpk baby fry, but I don't see any copper hmpk :OPPS: .... I don't know why there were lots of eggs but no fry to be seen, I'm still hoping though ;) If not it is ok, I have another copper hmpk female that I will try him with next time. Will keep you updated on if I see any fry in the other spawn tank !!!

ok It's official there are no black/copper hmpk, it appears that the eggs exploded into little pieces, he was frantically searching for his fry for two days, and there are none. He wa picking up all the pieces of the eggs and placing them back in the nest, I felt so sorry for him :OPPS: So now he is in a container beside the copper hmpk that I got at the auction last year at the IBC show. So we will see what happens !!!!

That's such a bummer! Poor little thing! Maybe things will work out better for the other little lady. I wonder what would have made the eggs explode?

Well I have some good news, we have some copper hmpk fry !!!! A couple hundred at least they are all over the spawning tank and when I took the female out they were already breeding again because he had a half dozen new eggs in the nest !!! :WOU :WOW: :lala

:LOL: LaBella I couldn't get mom betta to come out of the java moss, when she did and I was able to get her out, they had already started breeding again :OMG:

So I had newly hatched fry and new eggs in the other nest he had built. Same mom and dad they were just already breeding again when the fry hatched because mom was determined that she was not leaving with her belly full of eggs again :(

Yes I will definately have fry to sell, when they get big enough and I have picked my three pair, the rest will be up for sale !!
