This is slayer!

He is on "loan" from Bakersfield Quality Bettas in California.

I think he is a platinum/ multi color? I'm not sure of the exact color.



We were worried that blindness would eventually be a problem for this particular fish but
it isn't yet.
I have decided not to breed him to anything platinum, metallic or opaque.
Hopefully this will prevent the next generation from blindness.

Slayer is on "loan" and after I have a few spawns from him I'll send him back........

I would bred him to a pastel. That would increase her coloration, and decrease his, without getting too crazy with the genetics.
He is really a nice guy.
Breed him soon, before he can't see eggs falling.

Looking at him, I am almost sure he is an opaque over red.
If you look at the red on his fins, you can see that is it coming out from his body, so technically he is a BF.. But a dragon one.. dragon being the opaque covering to the scales..
You can see when you look at his face, where the opacity is not as strong, (a common problem in all dragon types, weak opacity on the face), that he has a red face, and the color where the dragon scaling IS at is the same color as the rest of his body.
At least that is what I think I am seeing.
You could probably have a ball breeding him to red marble as well, which might be better than pastel, where red wash is a fault, because you are going to get reds out of him.
If you have any red BF types, he would go well with that, more so than the pastel, now that I have gotten a chance to really look him over.

Yes Breed him, I have been promised one of his offspring by his owners. Lucky betta gets a vacation in Fl to meet chicks. LOL

P.S. I understand not wanting to breed him to an opaque...he already looks like he might have eye problems in the future and opaque genetics are riddled with those sorts of problems!

YES! OK cool. i was wondering how he would do. The breeder I got him from wouldnt specify if he had spawned before or not. So this is definatly good news!
Erma, My phone was shut off for a while so if i havnt answered im sorry! it shuld turn back on when the check for the bill cleared (whenever that may be >.<) . So when it does ill be sure to stay in touch.
