Title: My VeilTail Fry
Description: Why I keep breeding Vt's too ...
Smitty - October 8, 2007 07:05 PM (GMT)

 These are just a couple of my F1 Fry ... and these are the reasons, that although I do very much want to breed "Show Bettas" as well, I just can't bring myself to completely phase-out my VT lines. These are a couple of my favorite F1 VT's so far, which of course, I do plan to keep working. :WOU

Ooooohhhh.. NICE!!!
Yeah, you see, there are a lot of VT lovers here.
That is what this board has always been about, liking each type for itself.

:thankssign  :flower
These two were the "Alpha Males" of their respective spawns. The first one is now being spoiled in his own tank in my office ... but the second one I'm keeping in with his spawn as long as I can, to "keep the peace" in "his" tank :D
I can sit mesmerized for hours staring in the tanks with these guys. The pastels are just so beautiful! These two will be most likely the VT lines that I continue to try to improve.
We also have CT's that are just as (if not more) pretty as these, and we're attempting to breed HM's as well.

You know you could always show those Veils you bred as G1 Asymmetrical longfinned bettas!

VT's rock... their colors can be sooooo much more fun that CT's, HM's, DT's, etc...
Very impressive boys there... me, I like black fish. But that's me.

Nuh-uh, REALLY? Now that'd be really cool. Some of my VT's really are deserving of attention and recognition  Now you got me wishing they'd be big enough for the Oct. 20th show, LOL! Oh well, no biggie, that just means I've got until March to grow these to maturity, and/or even further work on the "line" for next year.
:thankssign
We'll get VT's showing one way or another! :Y :WOU

Thanks!
Yea, I'm also trying to get some black CT's lines going. I've got some really deep dark blue, and possibly some black with red wash ... but I have a feeling I'm still a ways off before I get an actual black line going well. I do have one small black melano male CT that we're trying to get fry from ... but he's an egg-eater <_<
I like black Plakats, and would love to get black HM's going.

Not sure of their sex just yet, as they're only about 10 weeks old. Right now they actually look more like CombTails, but both parents are CrownTail.
I will try to get some better pics of them individually.
