Ok heres an update on this spawn. There are 30, they were moved to a 55 gallon grow out tank. Just starting to get color!

aaaahhhhh!!!! :( I don't know what happened!? I came home from work for lunch and went to check on my fish. When I looked into the 55gallon grow out tank the Turquoise HMPK fry are in there and some were dead?!! I dont know what happened? I checked the water perimeters, no crowding, no overfeeding, slight filtration. I managed to save 6! out of 30, I only have 6 left..... :H I just want to cry............... :(

Is there any possibility for you to re-breed the pair?

Something like that I blame on a bacterial bloom, or on velvet. If no one was acting clamped up the day before, (velvet moves fast in fry, and some clamping is usually the only warning you get), then it could have been a bacterial infection.
I would treat with maracyn one and two, because we don't know what it is exactly, and I would also use some aquarisol in case it was a paracite.
Move then to a 10 gallon tank if you have one, it will make dosing easier and less expensive.
I am just sorry you had this kill off..

Also, if you have a heater check it.

Well I managed to save 7 from this spawn so it wasn't a total bust. I'll post pics tomorrow.

Sorry to hear about your loss, sounds about like the luck I have been having. Out of the massive spawn of my metllic blues, I have 2 left from a velvet outbreak. Keep the faith though, there will always be another spawn!

It's a good thing that you just happened to stop and look in on them at lunch break! One good thing is these will be your strongest. I'm looking forward to pics!

The male somhow developed a leision under his mouth on the right gill hinge. (yeah I know prolly not the correct terminology but) that was making him irratable to the female, so I pulled them both and am medicating him. I am hoping it's not a tumor.

i dont know if you can see it but as of right now she has this weird butterfly pattern on her fins.....I'm hoping as she grows older it goes away and colors in.
