i have what I believe to be and egg bound female. how do I massage her to get her to drop the eggs?

I think you just do it. Not sure there is any special technique.
I know that you can GENTLY press the female up against the side of a tank, with something like a beanie lid, and the pressure will help her to drop extra eggs.
Also several days fast could help her to reabsorb.

Are you sure she's eggbound and doesn't have internal parasites???
Egg-binding just isn't that common.
Yes, you can make her drop them... but the thing is... if she drops them when you massage her, she probably wasn't egg-bound to begin with.
So, I would say internal parasites or constipation may need to be addressed.

You are right, but a lot of people say egg bound, when the female is just over eggy.

Just put her in sight of an agressive male betta, try several different ones, and if that doesn't work fast, or spawn her and let her eat her eggs. I really advise against massaging her because that technique is only usable on goldfish and even then it hurts the goldfish really bad.

Well I put her in the tank with Sunti yesterday. I let them do the courting thing. Sunti was quite gentle with her and did not nip at her at all. I left them together for a few hours and then right when she was going to release her eggs I put her in a cup of spring water and gently massaged her belly and out came boatload of eggs. I had to massage her a couple more times to get more eggs out before putting her in her tank. This morning I woke up and she had dropped some more eggs. I massaged her a little more and she dropped a lot more which she promptly ate. I put some extra ial leaves in with her this morning before I left for work
