Title: The things you learn

Betta Belle - June 28, 2006 05:27 AM (GMT)
This is a few pics of my old girl Shyness, when she was shiney and new.
I was going through all of my new pictures of her, and I realized something, having JUST bought the wrong fish...
Shyness is a PK.
The giveaway is her anal and vents.
And if I hadn't been recently studying the PK, I would have never known...
OK, well I noticed a few weeks ago, that she had pretty long anals for a female, but biying the PK girl at the auction jump started me into learning how to recognize a PK when I see one.. Well the PK female, lol.The males are pretty self evident.
And without further ado, my first PK female.

She's a cutie!!

Thanks.
Shynes is one of my favorites. She is also one of my oldest fish.
She is close to 3 years old right now, and the undisputed ruler of the tank.
She actually co-rules with my other older female Shadowfire, who is a little younger than she is.. I got HER about a month later, lol.
I know this because those two are the only ones that don't have nips in their tails.
Shyness is the mother of my first two spawns. And because the sire was a VT, I never knew anything until now, lol.
And by the by, I meant too long vents, THAT leadies and gents is what comes from posting when your half brain dead and the other half isn't working.

Shyness is beautiful, and looks great for three years old!! :P

I got my first PK from walmart by accident, a pretty girl that looks kinda like an MG. ^_^ I thought she'd be the ruler of the tank because of her aggressive behavior towards males, but she's a big chicken :OO I guess my PK girl isn't as sassy as yours! The ruler of my tank is a BIG CT/VT cross female...she is a HOSS, which is why she's named 'Big Momma' :lolo:

Hey Hakko, welcome abord!!!
That is an old pic of an old fish.
Now she looks every bit her three years, BUT sh is still undisputed co ruler of the Heifer Tank.
That pic was actually taken right before I spawned her, so, she was over a year old and might have been close to two at the time... I just need to find the fish journal that has all that information in it.
As you can see, I write an aweful lot.
Even when I amnot posting here or on the various messgaeboards, I am writing SOMETHING.
I keep a fish journal that I write everything in, the thing is, I put them aay when they are full, and they get lost in the mix of all the OTHER stuff I am writing, lol.

Haha! The Heifer Tank! That's hilarious

I call mine the "Happy Rainbow Fish Club" :lolo:

Betta Belle - July 17, 2006 07:50 AM (GMT)
I have been calling them Heifers since they were wee things.
Shyness, Shadow and Satine (Forever Flare) reminded me of this trio of heifers when I was in high school.
Those three were always together, they always did the same thing. If you petted one you had to pet the other, and I don't know. They loved each other fiercely, but were just as jealous of each other as well.
It just kind of stuck.

LaBella - August 20, 2006 08:15 AM (GMT)
Thanks, Shyness is still around, she is a MONSTER. But I might be loosing her soon, she has been hiding a lot recently.
New pics of her soon, I hope.

bettaqueen - August 21, 2006 03:44 PM (GMT)
Oh Bella I hope you do not lose her

bettaqueen - August 21, 2006 10:36 PM (GMT)
How is she doing now Bella? Is she still hiding?

LaBella - August 30, 2006 05:42 AM (GMT)
Just saw this
I quick cured the tank, and I guess whatever was bothering her cleared up, because she isn't hiding anymore, and eating like her usual piggy self.

I am glad to hear she is doing better. Isn't just like the girl bettas? My boy is picky but my girl will gobble down anything I throw in there
