yea i was wondering does anyone know if female giant bettas exists? i know the question is kinda weird i havent seen any on aquabid...i've seen giant bettas and they are huge compared to normal sized bettas and to put a normal sized female betta with these behemoths looks like the giant male would tear the lil females to shreds i dont breed giants so i wouldnt know nothing about them just from what i read i do want to have atleast one giant betta but some are expensive...so can anyone answer this question oh and if there is such a thing can someone post a picture for thanks ^_^ ;)

Yes, there are, and I have seen them..
Newdayrising had a nice orange one a while ago.
The reason they are so hard to find, is breeders tend to hold on to them for themselves, or they put such a high price tag on them, the average prson just isn't going to be albe to afford them..
Also, it is an economics thing..
By selling a female giant, they give someone else the ability to produce giants.. By not selling a female, the male has to be bred with large non giant females, which produce fish that are not a large, and therefore don't get the attention/value that a full giant would, and is not worth as much.
By rarely selling females, they are helping to protect their ecomonics.

Yes, I have seen them too. And I echo what she said here about how they hang on to their best females.

I have, more than once, received a second male when getting a pair, that was supposed to be a female.
<_<

yep thats true just like the fish stores don't carry nice females they'd be losing money if they sell hm, dt, or sd females people wouldnt buy much as often or at all thats why you only see vt females....it all makes sense

Here you are!!

These are Giant Yellow Female from my own spawn. I bred them from Giant Yellow PK male and normal size Yellow HM female.

I have 2 females that are very large. One is half giant, and the other is just a big PK.

The half giant is a sole surviver of the spawn, so I would never part with her.

Plakad, I will trade you my oldest daughter for that fish.
She is ten years old, smart, and knows how to do water changes.
