I got 2 male powder blues, they occupy my 55g tank. Their antics are so fun. A vibrant and active species, I recomend 1 to everyone :)





The males are aggressive to each other but in 55g nobody gets hurt. Its funny that they both want to claim the same rock. I was assured they will work it out and nobody is going to get injured in such a large tank :)

Nice fish! Do you have other fish in that tank? If you don't, you might want to get something to give these guys something else to focus on. Ya, as long as one doesn't get bigger than the other they should be fine. I've had gouramis (except I had pearls) in a 55. Mine was heavily planted (with plastic) with driftwood and rock. I had 2 males and 3 females. The larger male would corner the smaller male and tear him up. He wanted the whole tank to himself. I do believe these are dwarf gouramis, correct me if I'm wrong. I'm guessing they may not want a whole tank to defend. They sure are pretty!

No, they are not alone. The tank also contains 2 Amazon Puffers, 2 Mollies and 2 Khuli Loaches.

From what I read one can keep a male per 20g of water. They are indeed some great fish to have :)
