She's a nice lookin' girl! Do you keep her as a pet or breeding of both?

bigphunny - June 27, 2007 10:36 PM (GMT)
yeah I've noticed her before in your other posts recently, she is a cutie. :P

Thus far, as a pet. I might breed her if I find the right male. Her spine is nicely formed, but looks messed up in the picture because of the angle. I'll see if I can get a picture straight on rather than 45 degree slighted from the side of the tank

You have to breed her! But to who.....

LaBella - June 29, 2007 01:15 AM (GMT)
Her back is fine for a DT.
I think she is breedable.
She would go well with a copper.

Gorgeous female! I agree, breed her!

Question...
Are all DT's chubby?
I'm just curious. Never seen a skinny DT, so I'm figuring it's one of the DTisms.
Is this a correct assumption?

leafgirl115 - June 29, 2007 02:29 PM (GMT)
They do seem to be thick....

LaBella - June 29, 2007 02:45 PM (GMT)
That is a DT thing..
Because of how the DT gene reflects the lower part of the body to the top (lateral line duplication, I believe, but I am only half awake at this point) it makes the body thicker..
It can also make the body stubby, which is one of the causes of the crooked spine in DTs...
Too much spine is trying to fit in too short a body.

I won't be breeding her yet... off to Vegas baby! :P But Morbid's coming by to pick her up today to one part, fish sit for me and secondly trying to breed with her boy. When she's ready to come home, I'll try my hands with a copper :)

I hope you have a blast in Las Vegas and have a safe journey as well.

Wow she's beautiful! and stocky too! I'd breed her with a nice male, she'd make healthy batches. :lolo:
