ok so after all this cory talk and bettas4me and Aiwens Awesoem corys i knew I had to get some for mysself, so i went to teh petstore today and picked up three what they call "Spotted" cory's I really liked them. i think they are Corydoras Paleatus like bettas4me, but not sure.
I got two larger ones that I hope are females and 1 smaler one they i hope is a male :D

Here is there home, I need to add some stones, Right now the bottom is bare, becuase it has two SBD bettas in there, But i will fix up this weekend.

With corys, sand is a better substrate choice. Stones can hurt their barbels and leave them injured and open to infection.
Sand is gentler on them and they will have much more natural behaviors like digging in it with their food.

You are so smart davenia, There just in a 5 gallon so sand should be easy to maintain and i havebeen very interested in your sand threads. ;)

I love cories, one the finest bottom feeding fish to ever grace an aquarium. I love watching them push sand around looking for food.

I used to have a breeding colony of pepper cories, just like the one's you have. They're so cute and adorable...you just want to scoop them out of the water and hug their little bodies! Ashame you can't do that. :(
They look to be breeding size. Add a sand substrate (they'll love you for it) and wait till the winter months. The larger and fatter they are, the more likely they're female. I'd add maybe 3 more just to be sure. Around Christmas time they'll lay eggs on the glass and watch your bettas! They eat em right up. Happened a lot with mine. :lolo:

I miss my cories. I have had a few different species but right now fate has left me with the ole standby bronze cory. I love my plecos but still have a soft spot for these guys.

Funny, I have 5 different kinds of cories, 3 each of 4 kinds(i can't list right now, I'm tired) and the lone green peppered who is still my favorite.
Yeah, I'm attached to my silly green peppered walmart special that cycled my 10 gal. tank with the angels... silly me... you mean you can't cycle with angels? who knew? Mine were on sale for a buck... figured I get a better cycle out of them than danios.
Luckily, mine made it, though no one knows why. they continue to defy convention, as do the cories.
All my silly little gooses.
Yours are really cute, but we are not to blame.... blame the fish.... the fish did it!!!
