Title: Miles To Go Before I Sleep

LaBella - June 18, 2007 08:07 PM (GMT)
I was planning on being here much more than I have been, however, I am gearing up for the Convention, and I really have not been able to put the time into Unique that I wanted to.
For that I apologize.
Right now, I am prepping my fish for my 4 day disappearance, and I am so glad that the pairs I had set up did not spawn... As it stands, I am going to have to take one spawn with me, because they need to be fed bbs.. The other two spawns, I can load their tanks up with grindals, and I just hope that the babies don't stuff themselves to death.
The great thing about grindals, is they will live in the water for days and days.
Hopefully, they will not gorge themselves to the point where they burst, and leave a little to get through the cuople days I am gone.
But the tiny guys will have to come with me.
And of course, I am worried about my other fish, but I have no one I trust to come into my house to check on them while I am gone.
So, these things have kept me from posting here as much as I should, but that will change very soon.

4 days with no food isn't too hard on most fish. Smaller highly active fish may be troubled by it though.

hopefully your spawns will treat the tasty worms with respect and eat with moderation :)

Like Palor said, they should do fine. Much better than overfeeding. My mother, while her intentions were good, overfed my bettas.. Fouling the water and killing over 14 breeders. From that point on, I have left my betas go hungry and have yet to lose one on my long distance aways. Have faith.. they will be fine!

I am not worried about most of my fish, I am just concerned about the two YOUNG spawns.
Three really.
I am not confident that they will not starve to the point they cannot recover in 4 days.

One thing I have noticed, every spawn I have had will eat, but not gorge on grindals. Though I am now seriously thinking of taking ALL my babies with me.

Aren't they really sensitive about temperature fluctuations when they are little?
